That was my point really. The owners can't sell much a vision when everybody knows some of them want out.

There's a lot of talk about overhaul this and overhaul that but with the prospect of a shorter pre-season, everyone being strapped for cash and an ageing, unbalanced squad it's difficult to see a way out. Constant references to wage bills etc are a complete red herring as so many players have been with the club a while and are on the way down or have become injury prone (or have been plain crap).

Dyche's name keeps getting thrown about but he appears to have had a breakdown in relationship with the Burnley owner over resources and we've got previous for similar.

I also seem to recall (correct me if I'm wrong) that one of the Palace supporting journos tweeted or reported that Dyche had been interviewed at the time of the De Boer fiasco but was discounted very quickly afterwards.

And in my opinion it's a No. Football is a game of opinions after all! But let's look at some of the reasons -

a coach of huge experience who knows football more than most of us could ever dream of
a coach who doesn't panic under pressure. How many people would have walked into Palace after 7 games, no points, no goals and comfortably kept us up
(c) tactically astute. Look at the wins over Man City, Arsenal, Man Utd - to name a few
(d) the players respect him and his methods. No hint of dressing room issues have emerged under Roy

Of course, the past 5 games have been pretty dreadful but it needs to be balanced in the round. We were safe with 8 games to go and the circumstances of Covid make the games feel like friendlies. Roy knows the squad needs freshening up as he has said so often enough; he also knows the kind of younger players who are likely to work. I would certainly trust his judgement in the market and its most unlikely he would have gone after the likes of Benteke or Sakko - two of the three big earners - in my judgement.

And all of them froze in 2014 and 2016.

Liverpool players freely admit they didn’t enjoy it under Hodgson.

Can’t give Hodgson a free pass because of the players .
He selects them, coaches them and is supposed to motivate them.
This is surely what management is all about .
In my view part of the reason why Townsend and Zaha have failed this season is because of the defensive positions they are required to take during the majority of the games.
This has to be down to Hodgson and is part of the reason we carry no threat or thrust in the wide areas.
We also are extremely conservative in our midfield play.
I cannot accept that Hodgson bears no responsibility.

We had eighteen shots at their goal and only four were on target, please explain how Hodgson made the cream of the crop miss the target completely fourteen times.
It was reported and very easy to find that the England players let Mr Hodgson badly down that day.

Against Liverpool they really turned up and we lost Zaha after ten mins, Burnley we lost because Guaita made a mistake and Ayew missed a sitter, against Leicester we made two horrendous mistakes for their first two goals leaving us too much to do, Chelsea we scored two which made our performance look better although our defending was again horrendous, Villa's first goal was a result of terrible marking allowing a simple strike at our goal and I thought Villa got away with a full on wind up through out the whole match, all these games apart from Liverpool were lost because of bloody awful individual mistakes, we rely on not making all these mistakes and I fail to see how any of them came be blamed on our manager.
