The Ł20 million cost obviously includes wages and add ons. Burke has been on loan but has struggled again and the article suggests WBA may have to write off much of the cost, just as we are likely to with Meyer. The central point is the uncertainty of transfers which can make or break a club. Our promotion team including the likes of Delaney, Ward, Bolassie, Jedi and Murray proved to be terrific value. Our expensive purchases of Sakho and Benteke have not proved to be good value even though you think you’re buying guaranteed quality. I believe Meyer has another year on his contract and would be available on a free at the end of that period if he’s not moved on in the summer. It’s very unlikely he’ll be anything other than a bench warmer under Hodgson.

Even scouts use database tools now this is how it is done in modern football.

You pay large sums for access to all info on players it's provided by scouts it has videos and all other medical etc info including the sports science stuff.
