So if this is correct and AS chooses to end his loan to force a move, all transfer fee comes to Palace?

Minus 1 years loan fee. Why not? The Turks owe us anyway if he completes two years. Until they pay up and complete the transfer he is ours .
This was Newton’s, point Sorloth, will only complete the loan if we don’t sell him , as their manager he should know.

Fingers crossed then. Maybe we won’t have to pay loan fee if player ends loan. Could be some bonus money in transfer pot, be interesting to know how much Leipzig value him at.

Please forgive me for dragging up the past, but can anyone remember where the information came from that we don't have a return clause. I looked on the cpfc website and it just says that he has gone on a 2 year loan.

There was a £5m loan 2 buy option. Not Friedman's finest moment, but at that stage, Palace wanted to get rid. Hindsight's a wonderful thing!

exactly - he is our player so if an offer comes in and the player wants to go then the deal can go through. We will need to pay Turks for breaking the loan deal 1 year early.

He is contracted to Palace until 2022, the buy out option is at the end of the 2021 season, not now.

The Club will not willingly reveal any detail of the deal unless they can put a positive spin on it.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

Everyone seems to be just presuming that the club made a pigs ear of this deal. No of us know the facts on this one.

According to Chris Williams, a sports journalist for German football:

"Alexander Sørloth to Leipzig is a tricky situation! Player has agreed terms, yet is still officially owned by Crystal Palace, but he’s on loan at Trabzonspor. The Turkish side can’t activate the purchase option unless he plays 50% of next season’s games.

If Trabz. want to trigger it early Palace can say no!! If Palace want to break the loan agreement they have to pay a hefty fee, but Sørloth himself can force a move back to Palace if he wishes under the loan deal.

Looks a mess from the outside, but Sørloth has agreed full terms with Leipzig according to reports in Norway, he’s obviously confident he can get what he wants"

If Sorloth has the opportunity of going to Leipzig, then he is going to take it.

If he has the ability to cut short his loan, then I'm sure he will do that. Otherwise, Palace will be paying out to cut short the loan.

Either way, we should benefit from selling him to Leipzig.

Just a thought, isn't Ademola Lookman still at Leipzig ? Looking at Wikipedia he only played 11 games last season. Still only 22. Part of the deal ?

This could get interesting. Let's hope Sorloth breaks the loan deal and see what happens next. If eh does and we agree terms with Leipzig, all of a sudden we could ahve a win-win for club and player.
