He can turn into the Incredible Hulk and that still won't alter the facts. He is our best player and has 3 years on his contract.
He will play near his best for us because he knows that is the only way to get a move to a big club when the time comes.
Sulking will only backfire on him.

Like last season just gone? He was poor. All those back passes as soon as he received the ball. Often only one man on him. Then the occasions when pva is free on an overlap, Wilf ignores him and loses the ball into his marker. Or the January period when he protected himself. Football has changed. Keeping problem people doesn’t work any more, especially at their value and the opportunity cost in having them still around.

Hrolf, he sulked like I said he would and you disagreed. Now you’re saying he won’t again. I wasn’t completely right because I said sell at £60-65 mil, but we only received the Arsenal bid of £45 mil spread over 750 transfer windows. We won’t ever hear of anything near £65mil now. What has made me laugh though are the people ssyiwe should’ve sold, but conveniently forgetting the only bid from Arsenal. Parish would’ve looked a right tw&t and been lynched by fans, and more than a few flying pies at half time.

Was he? By his standards maybe.
All things are relative. You obviously are one of these people who don't realise what you had till it's gone.

I'm not getting into the annual sell Zaha squabble so let's just see what happens.

The only benefit to hanging onto zaha is if we get bought out by mega spenders while he still puts in 5 or 6 out of 10 performances. That was your strategy last season and I don’t see much happening there. His worth financially and on the pitch continues to fall while we struggle to overhaul the squad. The whole football world see this.

What is your current price you’d accept and refuse for a player losing interest in putting in these limp performances? It was £100 mil last summer.

2016/17 season he was ranked as the 16th best player in the league with a 7.38 rating.

2017/18 season he was ranked as the 14th best player in the league with a 7.38 rating.

2018/19 season he was ranked as the 20th best player in the league with a 7.21 rating.

2019/20 season he was ranked as the 55th best player in the league with a 6.98 rating.

If it's the Zaha from the three previous seasons, I'd fight tooth and nail to keep him. I didn't want him to go last summer.

If it's the 19/20 Zaha, and that's all he feels like doing from now on, I'm fairly happy using his wages and transfer fee to give a couple of other players a go. If the last 8 games are anything to go by, him playing at that form and no investment elsewhere sends us down so if the club feels confident that's all we'll get from him, it doesn't feel quite as risky.

Crunch time. Have a player on the books who doesn't want to be here, and if retained will end up on the bench through non committal performances and yet still be on an outrageous salary, or, get rid to the best offer, which will probably be around the £30m mark, and move on. One has to wonder about dressing room harmony.

The club will have a price in mind but a chunk of that will go to United thus making his value that much greater as a player as opposed to taking the money.
Zaha is probably the most talented player we have ever had. As I have said many times, the idea that we can sell him and replace him with similar talent is a pipe dream. Buying 3 average players with the money will not improve our performances.
Cheer up. I'm fairly sure he will go next season.

I think this could be a bit of deja vu.

Poor decision making, poor end product, inconsistent...lets sell him to Everton for £40m if they come back in...Wilf can do a "Bolasie" and get found out and then shipped out.

To be fair to Bolasie, he got a major injury early on.

It’s a bizarre situation - he is too good for the clubs that might be willing to fork out, but the clubs he should be going to can’t afford him. If he goes to Everton or Newcastle he loses face as they aren’t sufficient a step up. I wonder whether a loan with option/obligation to buy is an option. Eg Arsenal cough up 5 mil and cover wages for him but have to pay 50 if he plays 25+ games and they make Europe. In return we get a mates rate loan/signing as well. Leaves us a little exposed in short term, but a decent loan/signing helps to cover and we get a bit of cash and a lot of wage budget room.

Correct he was never the same player after that injury. Before that I remember him and Lukaku having a really good partnership, and Bolasie was whipping in some really good balls, for Lukaku to tap home.

He’s supposedly our best ever player, but was out worked and out played by someone that cost us £2 million.
Says it all for me
