If it is a bid of £40m coming from Everton I would just take it. They are well known for spending huge amounts of money although surely they have an identical player in Richarlison, except he is better.
We will probably end up buying him back for £20m.

Just about to sign Allan for £25 million and Rodriguez on loan from Real, so I can’t see him going there. I really don’t think he’s going to go, playing every minute in pre-season, even though an injury could scupper a move.

Think this is Roy’s and the clubs way of saying, no bids are in or unlikely to come in, so you are staying. Unless we sell for £25 million, I can’t see any club paying anywhere near £35 million, for a petulant, and at the moment, over rated player.

I know it was against a weak Charlton side but I’ve just watched the highlights and he looked like he was really enjoying himself out there yesterday, more than I’ve seen him in a long time. I really would be surprised if he left.

I agree, he was delighted with his goal. It’s all guess work but i’m beginning to wonder with the Eze and Ferguson signings and more to come, has that changed his mind.

At the end of the day if I was him I would have threatened to leave to with the lack of investment in the squad. Maybe Roy comments saying Wilf wants to leave we’re a way of getting the board to spend money. Let’s wait and see.

If a move was imminent then Wilf doesn't play, and definitely not 90mins. He certainly seemed to be working hard which if he is staying bodes well. It could be the feelers were put out by his agent and there was no interest, or it could be there is a club who wants him but who need to sell first so he is relaxed and patiemt.

Unlike last summer I am happy either way. Him and Eze together is some prospect, but if he goes perhaps it funds a better finisher (if not a better player). Let's wait and see

He did work hard but apart from his goal he seems to have lost the ability to go past people as easily as he used to. He gets dispossessed much easier than he used to as well. I think he is a player in decline and that hurts to say it

What worried me was that nearly all of our creativity came from Wilf. If he's moving on, we need to as well.

I think we will. It’s difficult to play a different way when you have wilf in the team. Apart from 1 season, we have always had him which has shaped the way we play. If we had to adapt, I believe we could. However, he is still the greatest player I have ever seen in the red and blue so no complaints from me.

I want him to stay, but for the good of the club and future, it’s stick or twist and I think we should twist. If you offered me a RLC, I’d take it

There’s no frustration about him going from me, I can assure you. Couldn’t give a monkeys where he goes or what happens if he does. I think he’s the biggest hype job the premier league has ever seen. Not saying he’s a bad player, but over all the games he’s played for us, the ratio of him turning up hasn’t been good enough.
Apparently he insists on playing on the left, even though he can’t cross with his left foot, cuts inside has a dig from outside the box (apart from the Chelsea goal , which was quality). and it normally rolls to the keeper, or if he’s inside the box it ends up in the top tier.
£80 million was always laughable.

yes I think that was to keep offers away, but he has looked different in friendly's so far but i never read to much into them matches he just looked happy,he is only a winger but lot of the time the end product was poor, maybe a better striker when he crossed the ball would have helped, He has better support with the signings who are faster than him that means more chance of 1-1 rather 2-1 or 3-1, watch this space

If he stay, and I think that t's looking likely, then I'd like to see him back on the right where he looks a lot more comfortable.

He gets criticised for being stroppy, but when things go well you see the polarised emotion of a person that really cares and wants to win.

By all accounts it was actually Andros that made a fuss about wanting to play on the right so he could cut in on his left foot.. Thats what started Wilf playing solely on the left.
When Bolasie was here, he and Wilf would swap wings multiple times during a game, which you don't see anymore.

Imagine if this was a plan by Wilf all along.... say he is leaving, so the club invests in replacing him and add ons, thinking they have some dosh to spend, only for him to turn around and say he is staying with a nice team round him...

This was once a quality forum....
