Well, what a rant that is! Pretty disrespectful in my view. Wilf has been a great servant to Palace, has matured a lot as he has grown in age and is, without doubt, a top quality player. Enough said!

I hold my hands up , I can’t f*cking stand him, as a man or a footballer.
So much wasted talent it’s a joke , his ability is wasted on him.
He’s still mugging himself off now , Ward Prowse at home as he was 10 years ago against Alan Dunne at the Den.
Who hasn’t played against an idiot with loads of ability that can be talked/kicked out of a game, even at school boy level?
Ability he’s a 9 , mentally a 2.
Fair play to him for the 10% that he donates to charity, but apart from that can’t see any positives in him.
I want a player that still plays like he’s got a tenner in the bank (Suarez, Aguero, Kane etc) , Wilf plays like he’s ready to get in his Bentley , walking at defenders and wanting to beat them twice, three times. He thinks it the Zaha show.
Thinks he should be playing at a higher level, but none of the top clubs agree and his goals /assists show where he should be.
The ‘he’s one of our own ‘ is laughable , he left at the first opportunity and the only reason he is here is because he failed at Man Utd/Cardiff and no one else showed any interest.
Don’t care where he goes or if he succeeds or fails, I’m as interested in him, as he is in staying at Palace.
So much love for him on here, but I don’t hear it in the Holmesdale stand , many , like me think he’s a two bob c*nt.

OTT.
2 bob ? really, the goals v.brighton play off.
he needs to move on now, but hs contributed more than enough.
I regard him as a true Palace hero, just gone a bit cold recently.
Ive seen all the Palace greats since the 60s, he's up there.
Perhaps youll reconsider.
Wrighty leaving was painfull, bit when youve gotta go..

You talking about goals v Brighton 8 years ago ?
I was there, loved it. Since then , very rarely hes been great.
Wright was twice the player for me and was targeted by a top club, Zaha will do well to get a move to Newcastle.

Great servant for Palace? He left failed and had no where else to go, so came back.
Not many servants on £100 grand a week.

Agreed, not many on £100k per week and certainly at CPFC; however, there is a reason for that. He is top quality - not just the goals re Brighton but so much more. Remember the play off final, Arsenal away and many others.
Let's just agree to disagree in the spirit of this site. I somehow doubt there will ever be a meeting of minds on this one.

IMO the best I've seen for Palace and Wright equally fvcked off at the first opportunity at a time when we could have won something with a bit of further investment.

Yeah but Wright went to one of the top 2 clubs in the country and went on to become their top goalscorer ever.
Wilf went to one of the top 2 clubs in the country and didn’t score a goal for them.
Is that similar ??

no one can compare wright against any other striker we've had not even AJ or Armstrong.

Comparing wilf to Wright is weird because wilf is a winger. Compare wilf to Salako, bolasie, mcgoldrick, Lombardo, but not wrighty.

Of course it is. The difference is that Wright delivered and Zaha didn't. Wright was playing for a Palace team on the up who had been unlucky to finish third. Zaha moved to Alex Ferguson's United as a Championship player on sh!t money but ended up playing for Moyes. Never a Moyes player.

I don't like the person that Zaha appears to have turned into but he's massively contributed to our rise to the top flight, our longest spell there and an FA Cup final.
Wright similar but only spent two years with us in the top flight. Don't care too much for the person Wright turned into after leaving us either.

Fair enough. So Lombardo was obviously better. I preferred the way Salako played, more hungry and more Palace.
Mcgoldrick was a better crosser, but not as skilful. Bolasie, just more direct and as skilful , but even a worse crosser finisher than Zaha.

I think Wrighty was a great player in a 2 , but AJ was a great player up front on his own, chases everything , pulled out wide , stupid fast and must be one of our best ever signings ever (Clinton pus 5 mil for AJ)
Armstrong (I was at wolves away ) loved him.

Love him or hate him the undeniable fact is the reason we are still in the EPL is down to him. If not for anything else he earns a fair amount of penalties every season which believe it or not converts into points. My own opinion is that none of the top clubs want him and that includes Everton who have just signed James Rodrigues. I can’t see him going to PSG or Dortmund, so for better or for worse we are stuck with him and he with us

Hard to score a goal when you dont get to play.
