The number of primates imported to the UK for animal experiments almost tripled in 1 year to 6,700.

Contains disturbing video

That's how things like vaccines are found to be safe.
You won't be too worried if they find one that's viable for humans by knocking off a few monkeys will you?

If monkeys are that useful why don't we import millions of them instead of just 1000s?

And why are most experiments conducted on mice and rats?

This is a longer video. It includes experiments on cats and dogs and shows more footage of monkey experimentaition.

As you can gather by my opinion I really don't care and if a successful vaccine is found for any disease by experimenting on animals I'm for it.
It's been happening for decades and medication you have taken yourself was probably tested this way.

I refuse to use any product that has not been tested in the eyes of rabbits.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

I can't watch it.

I have some sympathy for your view.

Where it can't be avoided it's difficult to see another effective way. However, the sooner animal testing is in the past the better.

3 rabbits escape from a laboratory.

On the first night they find a field of organic carrots and eat their fill.

On the 2 night they come across some lady rabbits and party all night long.

On the 3rd day the first rabbit says I am going back to that field of carrots and eat my fill.

The 2nd rabbit says I am staying here with the lady rabbits and I am going to have another party.

The third rabbit says I am going back to the laboratory. "WHAT?" says the other 2, yeah I know but I'm dying for a cigarette.

There are far fewer experiments on animals now than in the past, the main reason being that many of the drug companies have joined together. GSK for example.

Agree. Of course there may another effective way but no-one has bothered trying to find it.
