How many good young players do we have? Our U23s were only kept of the bottom by Colchester Utd on goal difference in the also rans league!

I agree it would be nice in the ideal world that we are fielding youngsters in 'irrelevant' games but the elephant in the room, that everyone seems to be missing is the money. We ain't got a lot and each place in the prem is worth about 2 million!

Roy’s given two lads a run out in recent months. What should he do wheel them all out? Until one turns into a right

What circumstances would those be? Relatively meaningless fixtures when the majority of the first team are woefully out of form?

Isn’t that quite literally the ideal time to blood a couple of youngsters?

I didn't see a "woefully out of form first team" against Man Ure or Chelsea for that matter. We need something out of the last two games for the squad's confidence, if nothing else. The games aren't meaningless in the context of our post-lockdown meltdown.

There is a reason why there is no changes made. Our bench is like something from a Sunday league.

Maybe - but personnel isn't the only thing you can change. Formation, tactics, Jeez, even if it's get Zaha and townsend to swap wings some more(or at all)

pretty sure RH used to work at the university of Pennsylvania.....

February/March.

Retired twice but decied at the end of last season to prioritise playing over trekking over to Selhurst rubbish that Hodgson expects us to pay for.

You still haven't addressed any of my points btw. Typical of the type of posters that blindly support Hodgson.

What would you do if someone was in charge of one of your teams, who was refusuing to change a losing side and showed no interestest in the long term sustainability of the club?

Take our last bench.

9 players. 5 of them have played internationally, including for England, Germany, and the Netherlands.

Played - past tense of the word play.

If we’re at a point now where people won’t even acknowledge we’re woefully out of form, there’s little point discussing. We’ve lost 6 in a row, failing to score in 5 of those. By absolutely any definition that’s a woeful run of form.

So someone who was good enough for Germany at 19, is now Sunday league standard? Same question for Netherlands and England.

The defence of Roy is getting sillier and sillier.

I was exaggerating with the Sunday league comparison but our subs bench as a whole is desperate. As for Meyer, being good enough for Germany at 19 means absolutely nothing right now when he can’t even get a kick for us. Roy may be 1 dimensional but there is a reason Meyer doesn’t play. He is not good enough to play.

We've never played Meyer in his actual position, or even given him a run of games. Frustrating situation.
