As you rightly say, hindsight is wonderful. The problem was always 'how much will Manure get when we sell'. With hindsight, I would have priced him at £65m, a figure that would have said "we do want to do business". IMHO £80m was always a figure to frighten people off unless they were fool enough to offer it.

You aren’t making a very good case for a negotiation. Value him at £65 mil to get £60 mil. £50 mil would’ve been an outrage and not far off what Arsenal bid anyway, only they wanted to spread it over 3 years or 3 generations lol. This is football players and stupid figures, not house negotiations. Hindsight is ludicrous in this subject and some of the very same people would’ve said don’t sell low or what Arsenal or Everton were alleged to have bid, but in fact didn’t. I think his lack of end product and media shenanigans put clubs off. Oh and none of the top clubs need him or suit him recently over this period. Plus his wages aren’t worth what you get, and seeing as he could be benched, what’s the point? Plus no sell on value. God the reasons for not buying him haven’t looked good since he extended his contract on £130k a week.

for next season, i see 2 new full backs in mitchell & ferguson giving us more energy on both sides.

i wouldnt be adverse to seeing PVA playing further up tbf if needed.

we dont need any new midfielders, use meyer more & bring banks thru.

bring that young massive lump of a CB into the 1st team squad if we can offload mamadou.

if we have money to spend lets put all our eggs in a striker shaped basket as we are a good solid team, more than capable of holding our own over 38 matches...we just need a striker

I as always will look forward to the new season with or without new signings or manager.
I think it is in the best interest of both player and club that Wilf goes. For Wilf to have new opportunities and for the team the chance to change their attacking style.
I would like to see high maintenance players go like Sakho and maybe Benteke go. Jairo and Meyer unless the club is happy to keep them as squad players should go. I would hope we could get a playmaker midfielder in along with a couple of goal scoring forwards all of course of a younger age.. What will happen nobody knows but even with our present squad all fit I am sure we will have a good season.COYP

I’d like Mitrovic who apparently has a buyout clause if Fulham aren’t promoted.
26 goals this season playing as a lone striker and target man too.
Much improved from his Newcastle days and when I’ve seen him live it’s evident that he has a very good touch on the ball as well as physical strength.
He hasn’t got great pace and occasionally loses his head, but without these flaws I’m sure he’d attract bigger clubs with his other attributes.
He’s also a great mate of Luka so may motivate Luka to return to his early Palace form.

Early thoughts. First four games lost - West Brom at home, Liverpool away, Spurs home, Brighton away. The Brighton result is the final nail in the coffin for Roy Hodgson who is sacked whilst giving a live interview to the BBC. Dougie Freedman is installed as temporary manager, with Clinton Morrison as his second in command. Dougie is promised a £100m transfer kitty (the money that was ring fenced for the new stadium) and the results improve dramatically - so much that Palace top the league by Christmas.

I like Mitrovic, knows where the goal is and not afraid to put it about. Wonder what the buy out clause is. Can see him going to Leeds, as I doubt Bamford will set the league alight

The league will be stronger next season. Unless something drastically changes i cannot see three worse teams than us.

Yes I like him. He’s more suited to Roy than Benteke but I’m not sure if he is enough, plus he still can’t be cheap, and that’s the thing, we can’t afford any pricey forwards ruined by tactics or lack of attacking tactics.

Fulham are well on the way to the play-off final having won 2-0 in Cardiff this evening so he may not be going anywhere
