Sorry new to this let me try again. I am usually extremely positive but agree totally, we have come to the end of this road trying to do things on the cheap. There are hardly any teams left with this mindset, I even saw a stat that said Brighton have spent 10 million pounds plus on a player 6 times since we last did, Sakho was the last one I believe.

Brighton's 'Net Spend' over the last 3 seasons has been £190 Mill.
Our 'Net Spend' over the same period has been £8 Mill.
But we have finished above them in each of those seasons!

Now that is a rare "feel good" post.

We have "invested in wages" rather then transfer fees, and it is astonishing to see the likes of Villa, West ham, Brighton, and last season Fulham spent tens and tens of millions yet they don't seem to be much better off. May be it is not all about the money then.....

Have you got the lottery numbers for me too?

That's purely down to Hodgeball being played mainly in our half of the field where as Potterball gets played over the whole pitch!!

True BUT we still took 4 points off them this (last) season. (We won't mention what happened in the previous season - too painful)

Agreed it's not just about the transfer fee it's the wages too.
Benteke and Sakho have killed us financially as they both had massive transfer fees and excessive wages.
The combination is crippling.
Meyer as a free transfer will cost us over £20m over 3 years in wages.
Buy a lower league player for £10m and pay him £40k a week - cost over 3 years is c£16m

Yeah but we know we are on borrowed time; Roy has done wonders with what he has got to work with but I can see Seaweed overtake us next season. They seem to be shipping out the deadwood and duff signings and bringing in quality. Unless we get in 3 or 4 top standard players I reckon our end of season form will continue. It's only 6 weeks to next season FFS!

Judging by the announcement today we may well not be seeing supporters back in the ground for sometime. As we haven't really adapted well to the new rules in stadiums not exactly great news. With a few supporters back may well lift our performances a bit ?

Given Palace's poor home record in the last 2 seasons, I think it's unlikely that lack of vocal support can be blamed for some dire performances.

I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything.
