This sums it all up: Palace desperately need a long-term strategy Crystal Palace are the weirdest team in the Premier League — I have absolutely no idea what their long-term plan is. Sure, they’ve stayed in the Premier League for seven seasons but is that all they exist to do? Surely you need to at least aspire to something more? Their players are the oldest in the league, the manager has done well but will be 73 next month. Where are the players coming through to challenge for places? Who is being groomed to take over from Roy Hodgson? They are an enigma. (Tony Cascarino, the Times today)

Palace desperately need a long-term strategy
Crystal Palace are the weirdest team in the Premier League — I have absolutely no idea what their long-term plan is. Sure, they’ve stayed in the Premier League for seven seasons but is that all they exist to do? Surely you need to at least aspire to something more? What he’s said is the case for many clubs in the prem now and in the past. Ask some of the bigger clubs below us in the championship who didn’t get this or gave into fan pressure. He’s right on the age of players and Roy’s age or stuck in his ways/not moving with the times, possibly doing gradual damage to the squad and its value/age etc as a cost to his methods in staying in the Prem, if that ever entered his limited brain. But saying ‘who is being groomed groomed to take over from Roy Hodgson?’ Who the fvck does that anyway? They might have a secret shortlist Tony Cascarino won’t have a clue is on it but I can’t think of any clubs grooming managers to take over the manager. He gets paid to write that Sh1t as well. COYP

If you ever listen to Tony Cascarino you’ll notice he’s one fick fvck. What he’s said is the case for many clubs in the prem now and in the past. Ask some of the bigger clubs below us in the championship who didn’t get this or gave into fan pressure.
