Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

He wants £100k a week allegedly. He’s in no rush can afford to sit back and wait until somebody is prepared to pay what he wants. I very much doubt he cares who it is.

I just read that too, and he turned down a 67,000 per week contract Bournemouth offered before leaving. Starting to feel a little pricey.

Spurs and Arsenal not interested it would seem? If true, this places Palace in a great position, as WetSpam have to sell before buying? Also I would imagine he would want to get into preseason training so as to grab a starting position for the new season? This might work out really well for Palace....

Also refusing to play at the end of the season, end of his contract too, in case he got injured which could effect a new contract at another club.. put that together with his high wage demands, £100,000 a week, I'm not sure if he would be such a good addition to our club.. no loyalty, could've made a difference in Bournemouth's fight for relegation but refused, and also thinks very highly of himself asking for such a high wage.. maybe our club should give this one a miss..

It would be interesting to know what our first team squad think about him joining. In other words, is he the type of player who could unsettle the dressing room?

If true then I would not want him at Palace.
I am sure that Roy would ask Eddie Howe first though.

Say a 3 year deal at £67,000 is a total of 10mill (approx)

At £100,000 p/w is approx 15mill.

If we take for example Bright Osayi-Samuel we know he can be bought for 5 mill and if say on 25,000 p/w (which costs 4 mill) then is a total of 9 mill. So potentially cheaper and younger.

I'm not saying we should or shouldn't but I am begining to wonder if we are just getting carried away by all the hype around Fraser, which was triggered by him hitting the news by nit signing a contract extension.

I think some are making to much of a big deal over the situation with Bournemouth and Fraser...
Loyalty hardly exists in football anymore.. It's all about the pound note.. Players don't particularly care who they play for.. He's just been unlucky that his dispute has had some publicity

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

Yes but Osayi-Samuel has 16 career assists from 171 matches with ten in the Championship, three in League One and three in League Two.

Ryan Fraser managed 14 in a single Premier League season in 2018/19.

For me that £6 million difference you have mentioned, when spread over three years, is minimal compensation for the proven Premier League experience and ability of setting up goals that he can offer.

Let's not forget that creativity in the final third is the single biggest area of improvement that we need. It's all well and good us lamenting Benteke, Sorloth, Wickham etc not scoring but the service they receive, by and large, is woeful.

Not saying I'm against us signing Osayi-Samual by the way. Just think that they're in a different class at the moment.

Correct. As I think I said earlier in the thread, it's hardly like Wilf has been pulling up trees after chucking in a transfer request last summer. If we only fielded players who deeply cared about the club we wouldn't have many to choose from.

I haven't been on for a while, as I let some posters get under my skin so have not felt like I could add much to the conversation.

This contractual situation is particularly unusual, brought on by Covid-19, the lockdown and the delay in the end of the season meaning that players became out of contract whilst the season wasn't finished - it also impacted Burnley in particular.

I don't think it is so deplorable that he didn't want to stay and fight for Bournemouth if his head was already turned by moves to Tottenham and Arsenal (as it was back then). If he had broken his leg, he would have been left on his own with no contract.

More to the point, why was he hanging out for a move to the "top 6" a few months ago, but willing to join us now?
