Oyasi-Samuel at QPR is the same money, a winger, and 7 years younger. I'd rather have Oyasi-Samuel on our bench than McCarthy.

Pay 10/12 million for an unknown quantity. McCarthy was a steal at the price we got him and is a good player. He is the only player in our squad that is capable of a heavy challenge. A lot of you need to get over your Meyer crush.

A lot of truth in this (I would also add Luka to the (very short) list of our midfield players capable of a solid challenge though).

I would rather off load the high wage earners who have offered us very little in recent times, such as Sakho and Meyer.

The ‘solid challenge’ is sadly a dying art in professional football and is now more of a negative than a positive. There’s no benefit in getting regular yellow cards. The game has moved on from that and it’s all about technical ability ahead of physicality.

I agree with Sakho, but I think Meyer could do well if played as a number 10 or under a new manager/formation.

I’ll wait and see what we do if after and he’s sold.
