Now he has quit Bournemouth why don't we go for him to be our next manager.

Because we want to stay in the Premier League

An excellent blend for a manager would be Roy defensively and Howe attacking. If you can come up with a system and a group of players that can successfully mix those two philosophies then I reckon we would have a top ten team.

On the plus side, Howe is young enough to learn how to implement a defensive strategy suitable to keep out the opposition in the PL. The downside is that whilst he had some decent talent at Bournemouth, he also squandered quite a lot on some pretty poor players (if of course he was responsible for buying them all).

I’m not a massive lover of Howe and didn’t like some of his interviews that got him the smug Eddie moniker, but he most probably will be on the short list for being Roy’s replacement at some point.

Did he choose Burnley over us a few years ago? Didnt go well there for him, not for me. Keep Roy for another year and start looking in Jan or start now for the season after next.

Is the correct answer.

No for me . Palace , have only stayed in the Premier, because the only times we started to forget that defence has to be the platform for offence , we to were soon headed for the championship.
If you can not maintain that requirement you go down. There has to be a compromise if the purse doesn’t allow for the very best of squads. I don’t think Howe would compromise to the degree that Parish, would expect, and the inevitable would happen.

The big question mark is whether he will end up like Curbishley or Moyes who struggled once they left Charlton and Everton, respectively. When Howe left for Burnley he did come back with his tail between his legs. I definitely think he needs time out as in his interviews towards the end of the season he seemed almost resigned to relegation even before it happened and didn't seem to have much life in him.

Who knows but EH genuinely needs a break and he has been associated with Bournemouth for over 20 years.

He has done a fine job keeping them up for 5 years and they have some notable performances during that time.

The PL is for the very rich after all.

I think he's a good manager, but we don't have the squad that would fit the football he wants to play or the money to spend what he'd need to change things.

Howe didn’t choose Burnley over us previously.

He had interview and He was successful there was an issue regarding compensation and Burnley stepped in and he went there.

"Winger Jordon Ibe, who cost £15m from Liverpool in 2016, played only two league games in 2019-20, and striker Dominic Solanke - who arrived in a £19m deal from the Anfield club in 2019 - managed three league goals in 32 games."

Looks like the scousers are quite adept at getting decent money for the duffers they have no use for
