Roy and Dougie are feverishly trying to sign him up as a player. Helps the squad's average age and freshens us up a bit.

Is Howe/his board another example of trying to take a small team to the next level by throwing money away on overpriced players?
He should be applauded for the fact that he took Bournemouth from the trapdoor that leads to oblivion into the PL in a very short time, and for keeping them there for the first 2/3 years. It's the last couple of years where he's lost his mojo.
He certainly needs time to reflect.

Strikers confidence and key players injured is no fault of any manager.

He was given a shed load of money and they still went down. He made a few good signings but he also signed Ibe and Solanke. Who would you trust to keep us up, Roy or Howe?

Bournemouth players all seemed clueless and lacklustre after the restart when they especially needed to be on the ball, under Roy we've never been in trouble position wise, experience cannot be taught.

Would Howe come in and work alongside Hodgson for a year, with a project to both work on?

Hodgson DoF, Howe head coach...the two of them start something together that Howe ultimately takes the full reigns of in a couple of years?

If we were relegated with Howe, I wouldn't be worried... if we were spending big, I would be worried.

I feel we need a manager/head coach that is heavily involved with the club... but got the club... Dyche and Howe fit the mould, but there are so many managers out here that can...

Personally.. I say bring in Popovic, with freedman as DOF and Hodgson in a role that works alongside them linking up scouts, youth, etc... nice way to see out his career.

This was once a quality forum....

Such benevolence isn’t afforded to Palace managers.

Agreed, but not sorting out your defensive frailties is because they will always come back to bite you on the proverbial.

As others have said had loads of control at Bournemouth, particularly in the transfer market. He would struggle here with this and probably at most clubs as well. Think he will take a break for a while in any case than jump straight back in. As said he could be groomed within the club as Roy's successor this season ? However not sure that the club are willing to pay for this type of scenario and all parties would agree.

I can’t imagine any experienced manager singing up for that type of scenario.
