Careful with making yourself a wishlist or future line up lads, makes it even more disappointing when transfers don't materialise. Think a lot of false hope gets generated by lazy journalists and then the frustration and ire towards the club inevitably increases when the reality can't match fantasy.

Not that Barrow, no. It's a young one from Bologna, one of the best youngsters in the world.

And yes, I know about Schurrle, but he announced it last week. He has been active,maybe he could have been talked out of it.

My starting XI for the opening games is based on the assumption that our injured players may not be match fit, so no Tomkins, Cahill, PvA or Sakho. Guaita Ferguson--Kelly--Dann--Mitchell Milivojevic--McCarthy Ayew--Eze--Fraser Benteke Subs: Hennessey Ward Kouyate Schlupp Meyer Townsend Wickham (if fit ) otherwise McArthur. Of course, there are bound to be someone who gets injured during pre-season or the warm-up to the first game! You will gather from this that I don't see us getting either Edouard or Watkins but I do see Wilf going. WE need to bear in mind that the transfer window will be open for the first 3 weeks of the new season and for a further week or so for trading with Football league clubs (but not other Prem clubs). Of course, there are bound to be someone who gets injured during pre-season or the warm-up to the first game!

You will gather from this that I don't see us getting either Edouard or Watkins but I do see Wilf going.

WE need to bear in mind that the transfer window will be open for the first 3 weeks of the new season and for a further week or so for trading with Football league clubs (but not other Prem clubs).

Genuinely don�t see it being too different from the team that started against Bournemouth - minus Wilf with Schluppy in his place. I just don�t see us spending anything near the sort of money some think. That�s not to say we can�t improve the squad with out of contract players and loans - but is Roy really a manager to change things around so much? It�ll be the same dogged, hard to break down Palace that we saw last season. Which is fine. I�ll be happy enough when the build up to every game isn�t all about Wilf and is more about the team!
