Nope. I think you need to find another forum, maybe one that's full of snowflakes to protect your precious scaremongering feelings.

Come on pal, it's a report from June, if your not interested go and bore someone else, as you clearly have nothing to add or contribute

Ah yes the snowflake argument when someone stands up to a tenuous at best conspiracy theory. Funny how you are so quick to challenge yet don't like to be challenged back.

As others have said all the evidence points to an accident. An accident waiting to happen maybe but an accident all the same.

But then why would I want to say anything bad about China on my Huwawei phone? They will be reading it and send the boys round.. .

There are lots of theories going around but this news report back in June in intetesting.
This report gets interesting when it's starts mentioning China
[Link]

"He dismisses the notion that China is seeking to gain control over Lebanon’s political and economic decision-making structures.
“China is not being able to get into Lebanon. Entry even through investment projects will be difficult since the Lebanese ask for their cuts, but the Chinese, like the Japanese, do not pay bribes from government money.”

China and Japan don't pay bribes from government money is the funniest thing I've ever heard. There have been loads of scandals in both countries. But we all know China is big into Africa these days, how do you do business in Africa without bribes? A big fat African dictator is laughing right now.

To be fair, they probably can access what they want to on your phone although I suspect they cannot be arsed. But the links between Huwawei and the Chinese Government are absolute fact and there are serious reasons why questions should be asked of their involvement in certain segments of our communications set up.

I get your point about people being to quick to jump to a conspiracy theory when it is just people f***ing up, like they always have done, do and will carry on in the future.

I have an Huwawei phone myself and any Tiddly James Bond who wants to have a gander is quite welcome to but fears about the company are based on genuine fact.

The Chinese do not even hide it. They see it is a perfectly legimate way to do business which it is. It might not be morally right but handing over sums of cash in return for favourable trading rights is what every country does. The West are just a little more coy about it with the UK primarily using its over-seas aid budget to facilitate it.

It could be just an accident or it could be that someone noticed the stockpile and thought one small bomb and up it all goes.

As for China I have no doubt that they and other interested parties will try and profit from it whether they were responsible or not.

It's very sad Lebanon is supposed to be a beautiful country and Beirut was once known as the Paris of the east. Today it is a chew toy for the neighbouring countries and Iran to fight over.

Agreed particularly on the phone front! But talking tech every tech company spies on users regardless of where they are based. They would find mine boring - unless they were into football music and beer.

So your aloud to challenge but I can't!
It's a report from june, not a conspiracy theory! You can make of it what you want, it's open to discussion but don't try and just close down debate like all the other snow flakes

What this incident should bring into focus is the murky International shipping trade.

Seems mad that amount of explosive material could just be dumped in a port and left there for years.

Having said that Lebanons gov is known to be all over the shop and had been notified the fertiliser should be moved on more than one occasion.

It's a report, you are making it a conspiracy theory by suggesting something I suggest is not there.

I would equally suggest that by comments like 'find another forum,' and use of the phrase 'snowflake,' is the usual over aggressive d#ck swinging seen on certain threads that does not encourage debate it attempts to shut it down.

OK how about I think you are seeing something I don't exist and you disagree, seeing a possible attempt by China to move into and possibly destablise the Middle East.

We don't have to agree.

Another interesting artical. Not a conspiracy theory but clearly alot of political activity which looks to be brought forward by this "accident"

I genuinely had no idea 'Gammon,' was used as a derogatory term until Stirling pointed it out to me...

But its not the first time I have been branded 'snowflake,' on this site for my views.
