Apologies. For "rice" please read "price". Sounds like a potato advert : )

Just to say I am pinning my hope on Dazza, who seems to have a reasonably reliable inside link? Hopefully, if this is to be believed, we are near to signing Eze and trying hard to land Nelson and Watkins? If we manage to land these three it would be a pretty good window.

I always disagree with this decent service thing, what does he want the ball plopped straight on his head 5 yards out all the time?? He doesn’t attack the ball in the area, he doesn’t break sweat to try and make something happen, yes we’re not creating a lot of chances at the moment, but even when we were he was missing them after that first season. He just hasn’t got that fire in his belly, he’s now on easy street largely thanks to the crazy money he’s earning and no competition

Of course he does. However even just occasionally would be nice. In honesty Zaha can't cross, Townsend can't cross and Bolasie couldn't either. Our entire game plan since promotion has revolved around wingers feeding target men but we've never had anyone who can even semi-consistently deliver decent crosses. Hence the lack of goals for Benteke, Wickham, Sorloth, Chamakh etc.

BBC Site saying Palace only value EZE at 10 million but QPR want 20 million. Loos like a non starter.

Plus we haven’t had a decent midfielder since Cabaye who can pass to an attacker without the opposition having 10 minutes to getting into a defending position to cut out said pass - grrr!

I dont think that our lack of goals is purely down to Benteke. If we changed the way that we deliver crosses into the box then we might see a different Benteke. If we assume Zaha wont be here next season and we get a different style of winger who could get crosses in quicker then we might see a different Benteke.

Indeed!

I would get rid of him personally his had enough chances to prove himself think we should get what we can get for him and fresher up the forward line with more hungry forwards and not a forward who is just here to take a pay check

he wouldn't need a taxi to his new place, there'd be plenty who'd take him free of charge

We should have let him go when his contract expired. Could have saved ourselves a years wages. To think that anybody is actually going to pay a transfer fee for him is pure fantasy.

Absolutely. Great shout about Cabaye, we miss him so much. Really hoped Meyer would take over that role.

Massive error giving him a contract extension.

He has become a massive financial liability

I do try and be patient, expecting it to be better next time, however next time seems to never come along and the antecedence now says otherwise. Why we never seems to have a strategic plan in place for succession planning in our squad, this amazes me, and I do wonder what on earth the DOF actually does apart from polishing Parishes shoes and cleaning his car!

Agreed every club can have a bad window as they fail to sign their key targets. We seem to have had 4/5 on the trot which suggest our strategy is wrong.

If we can only afford a Mondeo there is no point shopping in the Ferrari store and hoping the salesman will knock 50% of the valuation.

If we don't have much money then it is better to look at cheaper targets. I would love a striker that scores 30 goals per season but unless you are incredibly lucky they are expensive. So I would settle for 2 strikers that score 10-15 goals per season each. Burnley have 3/4 strikers who just creep into double figures but it allows Dyche to rotate when they are out of form.
