Jairo is the player that I really hope pushes on this season. Alongside Zaha he was one of the standout players for me in preseason showing a great range of passing and he can compete for PL's biggest hair.

Totally agree. Jairo is becoming like a new signing in defensive midfield. He hasn't been in matchsquads recently. Is he injured?

Back in training yesterday afternoon. Won’t be available for the weekend but should be fit for next week.

I can't see anyone agreeing to buying Brewster for £25 million with a £35 million option for them to buy him back. The risk outweighs the potential profit. The buy-back needs to be at least double the transfer fee.

He looks to have great potential though.

It does but this is one is a seller's market. Liverpool have very deep pockets. They don't have to sell. We have stiff competition. And if the right deal isn't offered, they can well afford to keep him (although he is unlikely to get much or any game time in that team).

Thus, we can offer £20m/£40m. And they can just say: Nah!

The best I can see is that the buy-back has a short time limit, there is no contractual obligation to play him certain numbers of games and he doesn't do enough in that time to persuade Liverpool to buy him back... but matures to that level in the following WEEK!

Sadly, there is a quality lad in the middle of all this desperate to play who could be the future for his club and country if he got the game time. It's a pity Liverpool are such hard-nosed c***s.

Well, every PL club is a hard nosed c.... when it comes to selling valuable assets, don't blame them for that. Brewster is a top striker in the making. Just hope that Palace win out against Sheffield and other clubs competing for him. We have done so well so far, let's hope our good fortune continues

what concerns me a little is that our track record of developing young strikers of late isn't that good - Bamford, Sorloth, Gayle to a certain extent. Hope I'm wrong if we do get someone like him in.

Yes to a certain extent but Bamford obviously thought he was too good for us, I suspect Sorloth and agent are bad eggs and Gayle while a great natural finisher, had little else to his game imo and may have had off field issues. So possibly the club could do little with them, who knows

It giving new players an opportunity that concerns me.
I Promised myself I was going to give Roy the benefit of the doubt to start this season off - but let’s face it he’s not been that great at trying something new/different.
Don’t think the same applies for Wilder - Really hope Brewster choses to come to us though.

I'd prefer a £25m with a guaranteed profit, if they chose to take him back, over paying a £5m loan for a developing player.

You need to be very good to play for Liverpool these days. If they chose to buy him back, he'd need to be in the top 10%. Or, of course, they buy back as a squad player with resale value. There's still always the chance they chose not to take up their entitlement, like Chelsea did with Ake.

In terms of a future fee being 'double', possibly it's more likely the £25m is cheap, on the basis that there is a buy back option.

Totally agree with this. A club like Palace can't be pushed around. If you pay 25 million on a 19 year old player and he score 25 goals in 2 seasons, it should be club's right to ask 100 million for him.
