Get him in now, get them out in the summer.

Sorry, I suspect we'll keep Benteke. Meant to un-bold.

Unless we switch Eze centrally in a new system Mateta won't even see the ball but Roy wont because our ageing back four need too much protection from midfield who are also so pedestrian they themselves also need a shield in front of them so from that point of view as a defensive forward he may be ok.

Surprised at the negativity surrounding this.

The YouTube videos aren't inspiring, but they are just YouTube videos. Given the length of them, you could have just filled it entirely with his goals alone. Maybe poor editing or a lack of access to footage. I never read too much into them anyway they can make most players look like prime Ronaldinho.

Obviously I wish him well, sometimes things don't work out especially for strikers but sometimes they do! He's relatively young, should be physically capable in the PL and I'm hoping brings some energy, enthusiasm, physicality, link up and of course goals to our attack.

My only disappointment is given his age he was born after the release of the Lion King so can't figure out why his parents did not call him 'Hakuna'. Such is life.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Lol. How is it unquestionable if you've never seen him play.

7 goals this season in the Bundesliga vs rarely being available as he’s always injured. Is an unquestionable improvement in my book!

Doesn’t mean we can’t.

I have just heard about the impending loan but my understanding was it was 'Option' rather than 'Obligation' however my hearing could be awry.

I’ve only read about it being an obligation to buy (after 15 EPL games)

What have you heard and where from that says it’s only an Option?

Seen a statistic about him on goals scored, shots on target etc and the big one was that Mateta is the leagues No1 IN MISSED CHANCES !!!!!!! This might explain why he has been easy to prose away from Mainz

Benteke, has played really well for us in recent weeks, his general play , holding up, bringing others in to play, and first touches with the head, mobility , even effective in defence.
He is not a natural six yard finisher, but even if he was he doesn’t get that meany chances. Skied one, and very nearly squeezed a decent header in ,against Arsenal. And that was a good day.
If the team was able to push him into forward positions and keep the ball and him there , who knows how often he would have scored. And as things stand , if the team was able, applies to any new recruit.

People still defending Benteke and believing that given the chances he will score goals... Its laughable.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

This season , I’m not sure the run on Benteke, or for that matter Bats is as deserved as some say it is.
How often are these guys pushed into the opposition box most games? And if they are how often does the ball reach them? We all know the answer .
We need at least two far more competitive, and creative midfielders, if a striker in this team is going to flourish. Even with Eze, and Zaha, in the team, the ball is never in the opposition half often enough, or long enough let alone in the opposition box. That has to change, if we want lots of goals .

Given the amount of money involved and the fact that no other clubs like West Ham for instance haven’t come in and made a better offer it’s difficult to be enthusiastic. I wonder if he knows he’ll never actually play.

I said he is not a natural finisher. So I don’t believe anything of the sort. His all round game is however pretty decent. We do not have a natural goal scorer, and I have great doubts even if we did he would not struggle to prove it in this team.
Bats knows were the goal is . For his national side he proves it , for us he can,t.
