I just wondered whether I'd missed something. Wasn't there an alarming drop in form by many of our first team during that period? I suspect much will be made of VG's absence from the squad for yesterday's friendly, although Bright said not to worry about VG's absence. Will be interesting to see who plays between the sticks in the remaining pre-season fixtures.

Burnley and Villa for starters and these are the two games that I think most fans felt we underperformed in (especially Villa). We also were lacklustre against a Leicester team that was otherwise struggling post-lockdown (they lost a massive lead in the race for Champions League). We were fairly clueless against Wolves. We could have got something out of those games had we played to something like our potential - after all we'd beaten Villa and Burnley earlier in the season and dropped two points against Wolves with their last minute equalizer. We did, though, play well against Chelsea and Spurs and OK against Man U and were unlucky only to have got a single point out of those three games. Only my opinion, of course.
