I see the left misusing the term 'snowflake', just like they misuse the term 'Karen'.

All a bit of a cope.

Wonder how long it would take for you to burst out that hip buzzword again. If the pundits were black, there’d be uproar. But that’s none of my business, is it?

So you agree with sacking people to make up quotas? Where are the worker's rights? This could also happen to you or me. I'd take a massive legal case if it did. I'd also represent you if I could. This isn't right. If one of them wants to leave, or has grounds to be fired then replace with who they like. Otherwise equality would surely have to work two ways.
I'm concerned about how equality only works for minorities, effectively moving towards 'some are more equal than others'.

I got into trouble for a joke last night where I said 'Imagine all those Hollywood agents looking through their books for black actors, best time in the world to be a black actor'. But conversely, I couldn't help but wonder, you're a struggling, new, white male actor - your chances of work are now diminished. Although, I was being tongue in cheek, it started to get me thinking.

No of course I don't agree with people being sacked to make up the quota. I never said that.

I said 'whatever Sky's reasons were'. I doubt these pundits were on full time contracts are. Pundits often agree to short-term contracts / seasonal because in the world of TV and media, people become relevant and non-relevant very quickly. Likely had a buy-out clause and got paid off if there were still in contract.

The media reports it as 'sacked' for a strong and attention grabbing headline, but I'm sure Sky followed all legalities to relieve them of duties.

Like I said, I'd of course be gutted if this happened to me, but it is what it is if you're in that kind of job.

Of course, if you're working a 9-5 office job and you have a full-time contract, you need cause to be fired.

I see Scott Minto also sacked.
Nothing to do with their capabilities of course.
The pattern is clear for all to see.

I feel that you’re jumping the gun a bit here. If anything it’s a case for ageism but my view is that it’s good to have a fresh supply of new pundits, especially when the old ones aren’t that good (imho).

Like when Gray and Keys got the boot, they were both on top dollar and who misses them? Most of the presenters, commentators and analysts are interchangeable. None of them stand out to me as indispensable.

The motivation is not to "Freshen up" the panel but to make changes for other reasons.

Apropos Keys and they were relieved of their duties for reasons which were well documented and bear no resemblance to the reasons for discarding Messrs Nicholas,Le Tissier,Thompson and Minto.

Can’t believe how many people have strong opinions on this topic.

Struggling to think of a reason Sky wouldn’t want to change things in the age of Covid/increased competition/costs.

Struggling to think of the last time they actually did anything to the format of the show, or the personnel. 1998, 2000 maybe???

Who was on the show before Le Tiss?? Nicholas and Thommo? 1998, 2000 sort of time. Perhaps earlier. Crazy 4 blokes watching the tele has held peoples attention for so long. Pretty ridiculous show

Some definite snowflakes on this thread getting hot under the collar about the potential of a woman on the show. Hysterical! Calm down it hasn’t even happen yet, and you’ve lost your minds.

I was merely suggesting that the composition of the panel will delight the 'Woke' and 'PC Brigade'.

How do you know?

Sounds a lot like you're not going to watch a programme, to quote that the change is 'absolutely disgusting', as a possible result (not confirmed) of it no longer being fronted solely by white males, but instead some other 'type' of person.

For someone who spouts on about facts on here all the time, you've completely jumped to a conclusion using pretty strong language which demonstrates how firmly you believe the rhetoric. Odd that you've chosen this occasion to change your stance. Pretty revealing.

Answer the question - what 'type' of person do you not want on this show?

With respect, I really don't think my posts warranted this tirade.

I don't recognise the "Pretty strong language" to which you refer.I have formed a view which of course will in all probability turn out to be "Fact", time will tell.

Aropos the composition of the panel, I was more than happy with the regulars who have been discarded for reasons which I suspect many believe.

Now calm down dear - cold towels please.

What are you basing this on? Just a hunch or do have any other information?

This is just my opinion, I don't have any inside information.

I have been on my 'Soapbox' in my abode to the extent that my dear wife decided she had ENOUGH, collected her car keys and drove off in a huff after lambasting me verbally.!

Mostly people don’t like change initially but then they get used to it. So maybe let’s see who sky get in, format changes etc then make a judgment then.

I don’t think many people could argue with job appointments made on ability. I don’t feel those that have recently been let go are particularly talented, so personally I feel it’s no great loss.

Maybe not '' inside '' information, but my postman's chiropodist claims that the replacements are going to be Lenny Henry ( Thierry unavailable ), Andreja Pejic ( possibly son and daughter of former Stoke and Everton star, Mike ) and - to show there's no hard feelings over the Chinese Flu and 5G, Gok.

Personally, I'd take the Gok rumour with a pinch of salt.
