They were talking about Messi signing for Man.City and what a shock it would be for him coming to the UK:

"can you imagine him having to come out of the changing rooms in that corner with the Crystals shaking their pom-poms at him in the shadow of a Sainsburys?"

It's true but ignores the fact there must be some pretty rundown grounds in La Liga.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

I'd suggest that most opposition players are quite impressed by the rousing barrage of noise that welcomes the players on to the pitch at Selhurst, with the crowd booming out Glad All Over.

Did they not mention all the fat, topless Geordies on a freezing January evening.

They haven’t heard of Argentina yet?

I wasn’t aware until now that professional footballers grow up in luxury.

There are a load of sh1t holes - there are only about three or four decent teams.

Guardian, jokes all round.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

Can't see him having the success he's had in Spain, in England. Tougher league, more physical, bad weather...of course I'm sure he'll still produce moments of magic. But yeah, can't see him being a hit. Could be proven wrong.

Have to disagree with you here. If he has a good team around him I can’t see him not being the best player in the league. I’m absolutely buzzing to see him play in the prem.
