Also, the commentator pointed out they were doing it under the banner of No Room For Racism. Seems like the premier league and other organisations are distancing themselves from BLM.

And there is no room for racism rightly so.
What dont they get the uk and usa are probably the least racist and most fair societies on the planet. Many many millionaires and high profile successful people are bame. Blind to the obvious I suppose.

As one of the most progressive countries in the world we should support people’s right to peaceful protests when they feel the need to.

Going back to the root cause, the president of America told NFL players they should lose their jobs for taking a knee during the national anthem. To me, I think it’s good football’s finally have the right to protest. Didn’t Curcic get a ban for protesting against NATO bombings?

The UK is way ahead of America in terms of race relations. America has managed to whitewash a lot it’s past through being an unopposed world superpower for decades. Problems have been further compounded my politicising race issues.

Sorry but that's a whitewash in itself.
The whole world knows about slavery and who used and wanted it. It didnt start in the usa. Taking the knee would be ok if it was for a specific
' reason' ie anti racism and if that were the case it would be popular and agreed now with anti kneelers. It isnt about that though.
It is now about supporting a movement which wants freedoms removed, defund this and defund that. History is exactly that, history. If you try to cover it up you will never learn the wrongs.
Anti racism is good and proper. Imo it isnt as bad in the west as in the east and africa.
Everyone has the same life chance. If you choose to be a dick you deserve to have nothing.

Frankly if this continues when we are allowed back to games i will turn my back in protest at their meaningless media driven token of support.

I am enjoying being back at Selhurst and having a beer with my mates just like we have done for the past 40 years. Through Thick and thin we stick with our club. Not chairman, players or managers, OUR CLUB!

i will be fully accepting of 'Black Power' political diatribe if they also permit 'White Power' ? do it in memory of all the girls persecuted by the Rape Gangs in the North.

Careful now what you say....or you'll get fines and police control until they plant evidence that you are a criminal and you'll get on the news as an example of incels so that young generatiin will discount your dialogue and refer to you as a loser failure.

I've seen it before in societies that became extremist, from fadcists to communists. We already witness this on the internet. We think the Chinese or North Koreans are controlled, but we are too.

Imagine the arrests and reaction to something like "White Power" instead of "Black Power".....

I'm just grateful that Lewis Hamilton is in a sport I don't watch and not a Prem Legue footballer!

Who gives a sh*t?

If you don't like it, big deal, it lasts 10 seconds.

It's about unity, regardless, so the world needs more of that right now.

I am afraid that unity is the complete opposite of the effect this is now having. If you want to polarise views just keep ramming one rather contentious view down peoples throats and wait see what eventually happens.

Unbelievable.

No wonder there's only a handful of people regularly posting on this site now.

I am against the kneeling now because
1. I think it is doing more harm than good in the long term as it is winding people up - Sky and others don't help I might add!
2. It is in support of BLM which is a terrible organisation - people need to realign themselves and create a different group - that would gain more support.
3. I think that if you did an anonymous poll of the players that the majority would say that they are for getting rid of racism but that they don't need to take the knee to support that.
