If Wilf stays and plays like that all season and with Eze on the left then all we need is a striker and we will suddenly look a real threat. Our defensive injuries are showing, which is not surprising given we have our fourth choice centre-back, a midfielder and an U23 left-back.

For me Wilf was the clear MOTM. He was unplayable at times, drifting past players like they weren't there (bodes well if he stays). Riedewald played well and Tyrick seemed to grow into the game. Meyer once again did some neat stuff but still doesn't look like he can impose himself on a game (nice blind pass to put Schlupp in though).

It's always hard to tell how this will translate into a PL game, but we are certainly creating more chances playing 4-4-2. Unless we sign someone or Eze's injury is only minor then I imagine we will start as we did today as we only had Luka, Kelly and Meyer as the other fit seniors.

P.s. Please Palace buy a bloody striker!

Looking forward to seeing Zaha play up top. He looks dangerous running against CBs. It’s how he got Player of the month a couple of seasons ago and scored a good amount. We need an option up top with him but I like 442 with him there. We look more dangerous.

I really hope Townsend is not seen as anything but a backup this season. And whoever decided to pay Meyer 70k a week (if that is correct) needs his head looking at.

Wilf does look energised and up for it but is this the last throw of the dice by him to attract buyers?

Enjoyed that = their 29 looked good to my untrained eye.

Question for all those who watched the friendly matches as I didn't: Did the opponents chop Wilf as much as they do during in PL matches? He may look better simply because enjoys more freedom without all the fouls.

This transfer window finishes 1 month after the season starts, therefore if he wants his move, he's got to perform.

As things stand, champions league football in England, the top 4 won't touch him, not good enough. Only chance he will get is abroad.

Who's going to pay £35 million for him? Only chance he's got is to perform for Palace for a month, then end of transfer window, when clubs get desperate, they look at Zaha.

If Palace would want to sell then so late, without bringing in new players, I doubt it.

Zaha will stay at Palace 20/21 season is my 100% prediction.

Plenty of fouls, few yellow cards in friendlies though.

Sorry we all need to ask Dazza first, to confirm.

I am sorry to say that Wilf gets chopped a lot simply because he holds on to the ball too long. Same with Grealish. Going past a player where it can make a difference is one thing, trying to dribble through 3 defenders then you will lose the ball, fairly or otherwise. Have to say in Wilf’s defence though, he looks significantly better than walking around rolling it back 10 yards like he did all last season.

We need an upgrade on Townsend though - completely ineffective.
