Apparently 'visited by two local women'.

I once had an Icelandic girlfriend, I know what 'visit' means in Iceland.

Volcanic?

I do find Gareth Southgate really annoying in these situations. He is so earnest, sincere and up himself. He calls these players boys - one of them is a father with a long term partner. They weren't naive they were brazen and arrogant. They knew the rules and deliberately chose to break them - this was no chance meeting with 2 girls.

When dealing with the Harry Maguire situation, he referred to him as "the boy". Hardly, he is a 27 year old multi millionaire that probably has a social media/image team to look after him.

I remember a year or two ago, the England team were going to visit Auschwitz (or similar) and Southgate was saying that he would make sure that the players understood the importance and relevance of the visit. How stupid and uneducated are these England players?

Just because they are footballers does not excuse them from the responsibility of conducting themselves well. Particularly, as they are role models and representing the country.

Southgate comes over as a cross between a scout master and a social worker rather than a leader or manager.

Am I they only one that finds it annoying?

Rant over and yes, I feel better for that!

These two, Maguire and Walker - all good lads.

Completely agree with you. I'm finding Southgate's attitude increasingly annoying. On top of that choosing that very average and dirty footballer Ward-Prowse to start for England is inexplicable.

Young lads, mega rich, banging worldies whilst representing the nation. I think we’d all do the same if given the opportunity. Good on em. We were all young once.

Should have been more discreet.

Stern word from Gareth and dropped for the next set of fixtures will put them straight.

The England performances were terrible in both games. Not sure if anyone looked good. Southgate already lost his touch it seems. I reckon the waistcoat should return.

I have never rated him as a manager, Typical F.A. fodder. Although, the players seem to like him. Nice enough bloke but always looks like he is trying to be strong and authoritative. If he said to me, "Over the top lads", my reply would probably be, "show us how it's done again"..

I'll go out on a limb and say that England will not win a major tournament while he is manager, even though we have the potential to be an excellent team with the talent coming through. I do hope I'm wrong though.

I think I agree when Roy Keane (weird) when he said, they have been punished, draw a line and put them in next time, trust goes both ways.
