Some people will never be happy. All transfers come with a risk factor but I think this could be one of our best transfer windows for years without blowing millions on transfer fees. Hopefully there is some money left in the kitty for more before the window shuts (slams) or in January if necessary.

I would like to have seen us buy a young central defender and Flynn Downes from Ipswich looked like a good prospect for the future. There is still time so perhaps we will see some more fringe players arriving.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Hardly a shambles , Ferguson and Eke, two excellent signings.
Looks like Bats is coming to us for the season.
I'm glad we didn't get Watkins,he was anonymous in the playoff final.

Would agree with you if they weren't both crocked with no clue to when they will be fit.

Villa on the verge of singing Watkins for 28 mil and rising to 33, yes its far too much for him but how have they got this money to spend and we dont.
They spent 22 mil on Wesley and 9 mil on Sammata last year
Teams like Newcastle also splashing the cash compared to us.

We have been in desperate need for a striker for years.
How we have not signed someone a week before the window opens is aboslutely shocking.

Elky, hope you are feeling better now that We have
a new proven striker in Batshuayi, and we haven't had to break the bank to get him.

Whilst the Yanks are part owners our spends are limited, they're not willing to invest in a club they want out of so, until someone with deep or deeper pockets comes along that's it. Besides, Villa splashed the cash last season & it didn't work out.

We've signed an exciting youngster in Eze for £16m and the type of player we've been crying out for.

We've signed an exciting youngster who will potentially be or new right back on a tribunal based transfer.

We are about to sign Batshuayi on loan.

We're still in for a couple of players

We've held on to all of our first team players

Yet you're wetting your knickers because Villa are paying hugely over the odds for Watkins, Newcastle have signed an 28 year old with a dodgy knee for £20m and Villa have signed Wesley and Sammata who scored 6 goals between them for a combined fee of £32m.

The club has a limited amount of money and we've spent it pretty wisely to date.

Exactly my thoughts ... Now we do have the Batsman with an option to buy at end of season. Let's wait and see and everybody hold off on the whining. Also the window is still open, so who knows? COYP

Hopefully you are now regretting starting this thread. It seems that the club actually have a plan this year and it all seems to be coming together and there are rumours of more to come

If the plan is to reduce the age of the squad, then that is certainly going well.

However, the plan is clearly flexible given that Gallagher was the initial target from Chelsea, and then suddenly switched to Michy !
