Of course, the downside to winning is we know Roy doesn’t like changing a winning team, so what odds do you reckon of Batshuyai starting the next PL match?

Already love Eze. Keep Wilf, sign Benrahma and we can scare the s*** out of anyone.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

I’d say he will start from the bench unless we see a complete re shuffle in midfield. Roy will be fair to Ayew after his performances last season but Bats will ease his way in because Ayew is not an out and out striker.

I thought Ward had a great game. Dann and Kouyate also. Could you imagine if we didn't have Dann to shore up the back (even though he's quite old).
Mitchell played well, although I feel like him and Schlupp weren't always on the same page.

In midfield, the James's were okay. Good enough to break up their midfield in the first half, but were exposed in the second half.

Schlupp played poorly. Townsend did well (especially the cross).

Zaha had a great game. People may remember the last attempt into the side netting, but other than that, he was fantastic.

Ayew had a decent game too.

Luka played well when he came on, although I'm still negative on him because of his passing.

Eze looked like he could be really promising. He needs more time to develop an understanding of what Wilf and Mitchell will do, but I'm pretty excited to see what he can bring this season.

I gather you don't like Schlupp as its the second time you have posted the same lie.
I watched the game and he certainly completed more than one pass to a team mate.

A fantastic 3 pts considering the injuries. Far from a perfect performance and certainly rode our luck at times. But we did make some decent chances and in the brief period that he was on Eze showed signs of the quality he'll add. Bats still to come in plus maybe a couple of others will increase our quality in possession no doubt.

Hats off to the makeshift defence and Dann especially from me. I've said a few times in the past how we should have moved him on but in times of injury like this it shows how good it is to have some top pros at the club.

Saints expected to win easily as their faces told.
Goalie had a good game with two great saves point blank.

He completed 1 pass and that’s a fact. And your correct I am not his biggest fan, he is a desperate football player.

According to the statistics, Palace had 29% possession and 51% pass success. Pretty dire stats but, as the old cliche goes, the three points is the only stat that matters.

..are you saying that wonderful cross for Ayew to attack in the second half was a fault of Schlupp?

Southampton had to attack after we scored, we just waited to kill them off because they kept leaving huge gaps for us to exploit, we should've easily scored another.

Considering the players missing at this time that has to be 3 of the best points that will be gained all season. That was a near full strength Saints side and although it was never easy they were handled Pretty well.
When you consider the options we will have in the weeks to come throughout the team but especially in defence, today has to be reason for confidence for a good season.
