if that fella scored ten goals per game for the next six months i would still wonder if he is worthy of wearing that hallowed Eagle Shirt. If, that ever happened, the club would insist on him being drug tested before, during & after every single game.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Benteke.' by Guntrisoft Not a fan of his due to the high fee for him plus cant score for toffee....but... he does have some presence on the pitch, hes big and can carry the ball and lay off a good pass but not doing the biz as a striker. Not sure thats enough for a contract extension. COYP

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Benteke.' by Guntrisoft I'm not much of a fan of his, but if Roy really wants to play him, I'd start him. Let him work hard, tire out defenders with his strength, and let the defenders become complacent about his lack of speed and ball skills. THEN bring in a sub (Ayew? Bats?) who is quicker and more skilled and surprise the defenders when they are tired.

Not sure thats enough for a contract extension. COYP Have to agree with you ... he didn’t look at all bad when he came on last night, however, we must have a striker who can score. Our 'main striker' shouldn't be a fringe player. Maybe we can use a few Cup games in the New Year to sharpen up some of our team but we are desperate now.

We looked far more dangerous and his hold up and link play was good, that's never gone away but he won't put himself into great scoring positions because of his anxiety of missing. He has the football version of the yips

The figures could be ridiculous and no doubt moved on from 5 years or so ago. Also it depends on how his initial contract was negotiated when joining and what was offered then ? Pure speculation on my part as I haven't a clue how these deals are worked out. However just by looking at returns at the moment it doesn't look good.
