We try to play football our players are not always good enough at this level that is all it is.

Now I keep reading the names of Pulis and Big Sam come up, Two of the biggest exponents of backs to the wall football and slags to boot. With the team another year older we needed more than the addition of Eze to change things up and we’re now in a mess because of it.

Big Sam looked at us and played to our strengths. Roy looks at us and applies his system. Which has sadly been figured out. When BFS got the job he saw we needed a defensive midfielder (Luka) and left sided players (PVA and Schlupp) Shock horror he played them in position. In no world has Schlupp ever been a right winger. He knew PVA is crap defensively so played Townsend in front of him. But this also got a tune out of Benteke. They always say Hodgson who is a manager who will take you to 15th. That’s whether you are bottom or top when he took over. We are now getting England Roy. Players stop listening as no matter what they do - he won’t accept any blame and won’t change. If the players stop executing the system -then you need to change something. Either the players or the system. At least when Pulis and Fat Sam were in charge the games were really exciting particularly away ! Hodgson has one style of playing ,this season he was told by the Board to be more attacking which is completely against his nature and he can't work out what needs to be done to achieve that with the current group of players. He does care about the club ,but he can't adapt ,time for him to retire, only 6 months left on his contract! Don't be surprised if Eddie Howe joins the staff in January with some sort of role

Are you trying to say that the way WBA played against Liverpool to earn a 1-1 draw was worse than the way we played that resulted in a 7(SEVEN)-0 defeate? You really need to get a grip on reality.

I remember how smug he was when we beat Arsenal declaring himself a tactical genius. I've said before that I wanted him to stay. Former players who worked under Pulis have said how he basically only worked with the defenders and defensive midfielders in training to ensure they were solid and basically left the attacking players to train amongst themselves. This of course can work if the attacking players are good enough. I rarely enjoyed the football under Pulis even if he dug out some great results. I don't know why that seems to have apparently evaporated these last two games, but personally I think the players are still suffering from the fallout from the second half against Liverpool. He gave most of the players a chance to redeem themselves against Villa and they didn't. He'll make changes today I'm sure. He looked angry at times on Saturday and for all his nice old man image you can tell he still has a tough side. I believe he is tactically astute, he just doesn't sing his own praises like other managers do. Having stuck up for him there I remain a bit of a flip flopper as it is so hard to gauge what the long-term outlook is! However, I do think it is starting to look increasingly likely that he'll get his gold watch and a pat on the back in the summer and he gets a dignified retirement.

Well, it's definitely true that if we score first we don't seem to lose (something like 25 games unbeaten in which we've scored first) but also true that if the other team score first we hardly ever win.

I fully expect another bad defeat today, and if he doesnt win against Sheff Utd then I think he could be gone in Jan, with Arsenal, City and West Ham lined up. His continual favouritism towards certain players does not motivate players. Those in know they will always be in, and those out of the team know that no matter well they perform they will be dropped for favourites. You only have to look at England, as soon as Southgate came in, favourites were out and youth given a chance. He only has himself to blame.
