I've never said I wanted him out of the club...

I'm pretty sure you were one of the 'move him on' posters. I can check if you wish and I'll apologise if you didn't, but do I need to?

Wasnt it a couple of seasons ago whe he was analysed as missing the most 'good chances' in the league? Sorry but all this talk about not playing to his strengths is rubbish a good striker adapts to how a team plays. I remember when he first came he was bullying defenders, now he seems as weak as a kitten. Time for him to move on, but no one will buy him because of his wages and no way would he reduce his wages..

Well anyway....

Just close your eyes and put your hands over your ears and pretend our results are fine.

Results will be good enough to guarantee our safety again which is paramount in order to attract the sort of manager we will need in order to keep you happy, why would our club jeopardise the stability we have had with our current manager in order to satisfy your needs now, the very last thing we need to do now is spend unnecessary amounts of monies coupled with high risks that will involve our lovely little club being eaten up by Covid 19.

The game plan against Chelsea was to frustrate them at one end and then frustrate them at the other, I seem to remember us doing exactly the same at Leicester City about two seasons ago when we won 4-1, Leicester had many great opportunities but our defending was solid just like it was in the first half at Chelsea where in actual fact they created very little obvious goal scoring opportunities considering they had 99% of the match, I think they actually just passed the ball from one side to the other for 90% of their possession lol and waited for our mistakes, I was somewhat surprised our forward play was toothless throughout until I noticed the fouling on Eze was becoming a bit annoying and the ref just allowed it to continue ..blah blah

I do seem to remember also Mr Hodgson managing to get a good performance at home against Chelsea not too long ago, if we'd managed to defend in that game as we did in the first half this time and attack as we did the last when we scored two (yes we did! and one was actually by Benteke! ..the first being a Zaha beauty!) and not defend as we did in the second half this last time then the game could've been much more palatable ..but hey ho.

So, we need top half finishes or the manager goes?

No, we need a progressive upward trajectory. Not a slow decline that'a starting to rapidly accelerate.

And not someone living of past "glories" that were no better than the 4 seasons before he arrived.

We've lost to Everton and Chelsea this season. Hardly "a slow decline that'a starting to rapidly accelerate".

I can tell you don't have anything objective to add by all the petty snipes.

We've finished 11th, 12th, and 14th.
In the 4 seasons before that we finished 10th, 11th, 14th and 15th. With the caveat that when we finished 15th we reached a cup final.

Hodgson's performance is slightly worse than the 4 previous season. The level of entertainment is dour. He's got the most expensive squad we've ever had assembled.

Average at best and declining.

I think you'll find we've not been involved in any relegation battles with any other clubs since he took over, the only one piece of concern he has ever created was our horrendous ending to last season but that was after he'd secured safety with I think about ten games still to go (our best opportunity) and our captain had come out after the Bournemouth 0-2 and said the team were looking at the top group of clubs lol
Mr Hodgson secures safety with more consistency then any of the other managers we've had.

Can you name the clubs who are a similar size to us who have progressed further than we have over the past 4 years?

Mr Hodgson is very short term, we need to be aware of his passing.

Why are we rowing about someone who quite possibly won't be here in two season's time anyway.

Chelsea was painful yes and I'm very sure Mr Hodgson found it just as so, one individual made this game appear much worse then it should've been and I'm also very very sure he found it extremely painful and his nights sleep was as so, we must consider his awful nights sleep ..and be thankful that with Mr Hodgson as our manager during these very troubled times we will be able to sleep peacefully knowing that our great little club is safe from playing Millwall in the Championship.

Three cheers for Mr Hodgson ..hip hip hooray, hip hip hooray, hip hip hooray.

Sorry, I totally disagree about Benteke here (but that is what this board is for). He might be crap at finishing but he does hold the ball well and makes a nuisance of himself. He also draws centre halfs to him which Ayew does not.

I offer you his 95th minute contribution against Wolves at home last season although there appeared to be some improvement against Brighton and Watford.

As it happens I would have thrown him on against against Chelsea rather than make the subs Roy did but lets not pretend that would have been any more than a desperate roll of the dice rather than suggest it's some tactical shortfall on Roy's part who has made attacking subs in all three games prior.

A fair few have been holding the lack of chances for Riedewald against Roy and it just maybe he was trying to give him some minutes against some of the world's best and see what he could do knowing we were beaten.

Wow well done, proved me wrong. Cant remember that. But doesn't change my point that on saturday he would have been a good option to bring on to hold the ball up

It was 20 misses from 23 good chances in 2017-18 which was Roy's first season. The worst stats in Europe by a distance. Miracle we managed to stay up with the useless lump.
