This is exactly my problem with him and I really can’t get my head around it. Why in the name of Christ is he sticking with this 4-4-2 nonsense when it doesn’t suit the players he has. If he lines the team out against Wolves in the same set up then I will be for the first time in his tenure wishing he gets sacked before the season ends.

He has got to know that it is not working but is it because Wilf is happier up front that he won’t change it. At Roy’s age and with his experience I find it hard to believe that he is buckling to player pressure and playing Wilf up front because he is told to.

There is only 1 system that this squad of capable of playing and that is back to 3 centre midfield players. It may have been boring when we played that but we didn’t concede goals.

What position does Roy Hodgson have to take us to before he is asked to walk by Mr Parish?
Some stats, which Alan Pardew might wryly smile about:

Pardew: Played 87, Won 35, Drawn 13, Lost 39 - Win percentage 40.23

Hodgson: Played 144, Won 48, Drawn 34, Lost 62 - Win percentage 33.33

I appreciate that if Parish would have not renewed Hodgson's contract last time round then Hodgson's stats would look slightly better, however what does he have to do to get his marching orders?

I agree, his appetite to score, motivation, drive whateve you call it is just not there. His movement is non-existent. Against West Ham, Karen Carney called him out for it in the first half when Eze crossed the ball into an open area of space, and theres Benteke just jogging in, making now attempt to burst into the open space. You can tell hes just accepted his role now. Theres no accountability from Roy. Roy just keeps playing him. That failing is as much on Roy as it is on Benteke. He has others he could use.

I understand that Willo. Sometimes when things arent working you have to adapt and change. Try something new!

Why is he expecting a different outcome from Benteke? Answer is he's not/ He's happy to persevere with the same thing week in week out. Why not try and different system, tactics to incorporate his other options. Sorry but Hodgson is getting away with murder with some of our apologist fans (not directed to you!).

I hope for Roys lasting memory he can see out the rest of his season so we can look back fondly on him before we take a new path with a new Manager.

I might be somewhat 'Off the mark' but I believe that the consensus of 'Roy In' faction is that he is having to work with an old squad, lacking in vigour,pace and energy and that the turgid football is a direct result of this fact.
They also see an experienced manager who despite hardly any outlay in the 'Transfer Window' has kept us in the PL and will do so yet again.
