Have we considered that Roy may have lost the dressing room? I know he is, rightly, well respected but bigger managers than him have lost the players. Once this has happened can’t regain them. Wasn’t it Delaney that spoke to Parish and told him he had to ditch FDB?

Where's Damo when you need him?

What is the saying? Nature abhors a vacuum. Well that’s kinda the issue right now: an absence of certainty, both managerial and squad contracts. In such circumstances is it any surprise that key team members aren’t playing for a dead duck manager? We won’t improve until he’s awarded a new contract or replaced. Then the players will have a reason to put a shift in.

Anyone at the moment.

I think we should break the bank for Benitez.

If not Dyche, Howe, Coleman, Wagner, Franks, Cooper, Freedman, Cahill, Lampard, Terry, Blanc, Parker, Gerrard, Pearson, Shakespeare, Carrick plus loads of others.

I know all of them have question marks, but there is an issue that Premier League management jobs go to a small circle of managers with experience but have failed on a number of occasions like Bruce, Hughes, Hodgson, Pullis, Pardew etc. The list of jobs some of them have had are a real slap in the face to other managers who've never been given an opportunity.

We've got 29 points. They only need 9 from 14 games. If they are pants swap again at the end of the season and we are in a no worse position that where we currently are.

Almost gives us two bites of the cherry to find a replacement if we do it early. Who ever we pick is only likely to last two years before they either get sacked or a bigger club poaches them.

Good post, many are not grasping that we are coming to the end of Roy's tenure regardless of current form and the points situation could provide a new manager a chance to get in there assess the squad and draw up list of targets for the summer transfer window. Maybe skinflint Parish wants just a few more weeks out of Roy before he pay him off? Personally I think Roy will be gone before the end of the season.

One of the biggest mysteries in life is that loud stupid people normally don't have even the slightest inclination that they are stupid.

Absolutely spot on. Half our squad don’t know if they will be here next year and are probably looking elsewhere as we speak and the same goes for Roy and Ray. Batshauyi is a prime example of and he should not be next or near the starting 11.

Our only hope for the rest of the season is that we get Tomkins, Wilf, The 2 Macs and Schlupp back then we should pick up points,

I think there's quite a lot of truth in this although we're missing a few players like Tomkins, MacArthur, McCarthy and Zaha who might not let some of their colleagues get away with such a lack of bollocks. Luka is one of the biggest under performers and this undermines his captaincy as well IMO.

And what you are not grasping is the possibility that Parish may have to wait until the end of the season to get his preferred candidate - should the position become available.

Unless you are another one that just wants Hodgson out so badly that you would replace him with just anybody - which makes no sense at all.

Thats two games running i've heard the commentators say that our players are just going through the motions and one of the reasons must be that a few of them know they won't be here next season and that probably includes the manager too so they are not busting a gut for the club.

I was thinking along a cynical line regarding last season when they strung a few decent results together and mathematically avoided relegation, only to not turn up for the remaining 8 games. Was this a case of them thinking "one more payday and then I'm off" (this season)? That there are freeloaders aboard the Palace gravy train I have no doubt.

Alternatively, Parish is well aware that a change needs to be made.

His preferred option/s are not available at the precise moment in time.

We have enough points in the bag to have confidence in our ability to avoid relegation this season.

Therefore it makes no sense to part company with the manager now.

Mate

That's a fair enough assumption - but and you always knew there would be a but, right - 29 points ain't enough to stay up and playing the way we are at the moment I cant see where our next point is coming from let alone next win..!!

On that basis and if you are right that is a big risk Parish is taking and leaving "Captain Clueless" at the helm for the rest of the season..!!

It's a bizarre season and under Roy we have 29 points with 14 games left.

He should manage his remit well before the end.

I think he may be getting tired of it, it is not much fun being dragged around the country in the present circumstances at 73.

Leaking goals at the start repeatedly are a sign that the players are not getting it, but in Roy we trust.

The problem with that is the fact that they played well against Leicester 0-0 after our 7-0 and 3-0 awful results with liverpool and Villa and then followed that up with a 2-0 against Sheff.U and a 0-0 against Arsenal ..which was then closely followed by a thrashing at Man.C and then a humiliating pants pulling at home against West ham, then we beat Wolves blah blah blah, we are a tremendously frightening roller coaster which appears to be out of control lol
