Saw Van Halen at the Rainbow around 1980 and they were great. The first Van Halen album is among the best rock albums ever. Eddie was highly influencial in rock guitar and sold a lot more albums than most. RIP

Wow- this is turning into a very bad year for losing great musicians. I was thinking of a few, but I was shocked at just how many are listed here: RIP Eddie.

Wow what a shock truly great guitarist whilst not a fan of his music anybody who plays guitar knows how talented he was.

Remember him staying in a hotel i worked at a couple of times , we had orders of 10 bottles of Dom perignom from his roadies only kept one bottle on premises at at a time as it was £100 a bottle, had to run around to find some from elsewhere The 2nd time he stated he had gone teetotal. I think he enjoyed his life .
