You see I'm sorry this is the part I totally disagree with... The Weed were very good because we allowed them to look very good... I can guarantee no other side will allow them to look like we made them look... Especially at home...

One thing I will say is that Lampety looks a hell of a player... They will be lucky to hold on to him but I'm sorry there's no reason why we shouldn't be putting sides like Brighton to bed...

Hmmm....Newcastle managed to make them look pretty good ! But I know what you mean. Ultimately, they play a possession game which makes them look good but without much of a cutting edge up front. For all their dominance of the ball, they created few clear cut chances against us. In other games, when they have, they haven't finished them off.

As for Lampety, he's been something of a surprise package this season. Once teams figure him out, let's see what he can do. Highly impressive at the moment though.

Martin Samuel opined in the Mail that Hodgson would be relieved that there were no fans in the stadium as the verdict would have been damning.
In his view this type of performance may be acceptable against Liverpool, but not Brighton.
He also points out that Palace have lost 9 out of the last 13 games.
It’s only a journalist’s opinion and there’s nothing too contentious, but I’d does reflect what many fans have been saying.
Many fans are annoyed with Hodgson suggesting it was a good performance post match as if the fans can’t see what’s put in front of them.
I can’t understand why we played 20 yards further forward away at Man Utd - pushing four players forward in ostensibly a more difficult game - but are so passive at home to Brighton.
I’ve spoken to a few fans who in a perverse way were almost pleased that Brighton equalised otherwise Hodgson would have felt vindicated by this way of playing.
While I wouldn’t go that far I can see where they are coming from.

I agree with this. It may have been worse in the long term if we had of held on and won.

Only 5ft 4ins and I agree with Graeme Souness that because of his stature he could be 'Pinned' by attackers when he has to defend a cross.
Certainly got pace, is strong physically and has shown his prowess coming forward.
I am of the opinion that Brighton paid £3 Mill + add-ons for his services.

Thank you Willo. Clearly an excellent player, though perhaps teams will soon figure out how to nullify his threat. Hopefully when Ferguson finally gets game time, we will see what he has to offer..

You are most welcome.

In terms of Lamptey I believe he was mainly a right-back whilst at Chelsea but Brighton play a 3-4-3 system and he is deployed as a wing-back where he can display his attacking threat.Brighton in recent seasons have had attacking right-backs on that side ie Bruno and Schelotto.

Can't say I was happy to see them equalise, but as a similar point I cannot remember before, or ever before seeing possible, that towards the end of a Palace - Brighton game I would almost, almost be disinterested in the actual result. I'm guessing this is predominantly because I cannot recall Palace actually playing any football for the vast majority of 90 mins and therefore it did not feel like an actual game.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Wonder what the players say and think about this dross? Anyone stand up to the manager and tell him what we all feel?
A few weeks ago we were played off the park at Stamford Bridge - Southampton drew 3-3 there and put the pressure on Chelsea for the winner.
Why are we so utterly negative? It is beyond me - think Parish has a word or two with Roy H. about this. At least, I hope.....

I heard someone praise the style of football at Leeds under Bielsa.Attacking, on the front foot football.
He opined that if Hodgson had that side they would be ultra-defensive and bore everyone to tears.

That's an interesting post. Where did you read or hear that? Bielsa's right of course, but I think it's a highly inappropriate opinion to air in public about a fellow manager.

Sorry, I've read your post again. You weren't quoting Bielsa. Please ignore me.

It was someone I overheard and he isn't a fellow league manager.
Never set eyes on this chap before.

The players need to accept responsibility for poor performances, it all too easy to blame Roy. They all seemed a yard slower than Brighton, didn’t have any bite to their game, just appeared to be going through the motions. If anyone believes Roy sends out players to play so poorly.
If anyone has the stats, it would be interesting to compare that performance to the Everton one, in terms of tackles passes, distance run etc. I am sure they would be way down.
