Have a read of this

[Link]

Croydon Council’s planning committee has had an application for a development in Purley rushed on to its agenda for tomorrow, its last meeting of 2019, with a scheme submitted from a company whose “development director” is married to a senior member of the council’s planning staff. (December 2019)

And this [Link]

The Croydon planning officer who recommended approval for 59, 61 and 63 Higher Drive was Jan Slominski. That’s the same Jan Slominski who left his council job to go to work for architects HTA Design. (These architects do designs for the developer on this development) (yesterday January 2022)

Maybe with local papers now online this kind of corruption goes unnoticed or uncared about.

The only reason the Tories are up to their armpits in sleaze is because they are the government and so can make the decisions. There was plenty of sleaze around when Labour were in power.

Where Labour are in power in local government they are just as sleazy as the Tories e.g. Croydon and many inner city boroughs.

I hope nobody is naive enough to think that their side is Persil whilst the other lot aren't. It's simply a matter of who has the decision making power at the time, the other lot complain because they can't get their snouts in the trough.

They're all at it. Maybe some parties are worse than others, but often politicians are where they are due to their corruptibility and being open to influence from those who then have motivation to support their political career.

I don't think this deflection away from the tory PMs woes has any merit.

Only 3 successful prosecutions for electoral fraud have occurred in the 2019 election and they may not have been Labour anyway.

I don't think the public associate Starmer & Co with fraudulent activity.

They are too busy trying to find a tory who can tell the truth on just about anything.

This particular planning issue stinks to high heaven but given that Croydon Council smells even worse nothing will be done.
Taking tress out that have either TPO's on them or that are in a Conservation area or that are shown to be retained is a serious offence.
Will anything happen - no - first because as I said CC is corrupt anyway and second - very few Council employees are working in their offices - still!

Who said anything about electoral fraud although it goes on. No this is about snouts in trough, I have no problem with you digging out the Tories they deserve it. My point was where Labour and the Lib Dems have power they are at it as well, not to mention the Scottish mafia.
