..... that some lower league clubs haven't gone t1ts up. How on earth are thy surviving? This season looks totally wiped out now so, to me, it looks horribly bleak for them. I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything.

They rely on gate money and selling stuff to fans on match day this must be running out now. I think Parry suggested they would go bust by Christmas. Of course they want money from the PL who it suits to sit back and wait so they can pick off the better youngsters and force the EFL to agree to terms they dictate. And once again I ask where is FA the governing body in all this? Nowhere One more point

I believe the EFL gave each club around Ł1-2m but you are correct. They rely on gate money and selling stuff to fans on match day this must be running out now. I think Parry suggested they would go bust by Christmas.

Of course they want money from the PL who it suits to sit back and wait so they can pick off the better youngsters and force the EFL to agree to terms they dictate.

And once again I ask where is FA the governing body in all this? Nowhere

in theory you could pay the players in the topflight just one tenth of their previous money....and the spectacle would be exactly the same.

drop benteke from 30 million to 3 million ....and still no goals from him.

Giving money away without conditions or precident doesnt fit into any business model. Sadly that is what football is.

This article may explain why some clubs have not gone bust yet. The largest creditor is HMRC so maybe they are holding back from putting these clubs in administration in the hope that the PL will come up with a financial life raft. [Link] One more point

Of course it is unthinkable that the PL players made a contribution. The average salary in the PL is close to Ł3,000,000 pa. Could they survive on 50% of that? No I'm being silly. I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything.

No I'm being silly.

PL players, as i remember, voted against taking a pay cut much earlier this year.
Lower League clubs are surviving on their players having other (main) employment, low paid and volunteer staff, and the fact that they could still have limited crowds.

(meanwhile MP's took their inflation-busting pay-rise with increased expenses last month)
