The teams in Europe have to play games in quick succession, on the back of a truncated pre-season.
For instance both Liverpool and Man Utd's last 4 games have been over a 11/12 day period and this includes overseas travel.

Perhaps if our beloved team was in such a situation our supporters might deem that the schedule was very challenging!

Take the "big 6" or whoever finishes in a euro spot out of the league cup!

Despite my absolute dislike of the bin dippers I quite like Klopp and admire greatly what he has done however, his rants at the weekend about the 5 substitutes were embarrassing.

As others have said the big clubs have it all in their favour already, without naming a second eleven on the bench and being able to use five substitutes that would be first choice for any team in the bottom half of the league.

They have had TWO votes on it Klopp, suck it up and get on with it and don’t throw a strop and start sulking just because you can’t get your own way that suits your team and these underhand tactics to put pressure on the Premier League to change it are shameful.

No sympathy for them either. This season has the potential to be much more interesting that previous years and potentially create a much more even playing field.

3 subs limits the tactical changes you can have in a match. 5 subs is a complete game changer with the opportunity to completely change a formation.

The only reason I would like it, is that it would give more youngsters a chance. Id be willing to compromise at 4 subs, but the 4th must be U21.

I am, and shall remain an ardent supporter of the National team and to that respect I want England to field the strongest team that it possibly can. It does annoy me when our top talent who play for the so called bigger clubs pick up injuries through fixture congestion and then can't play in qualifiers/big tournaments etc.

Solution to this would be to scrap a lot of the nothing fixtures in the UCL (sorry APOEL Nicosia) and just get rid of the League Cup full stop. However the bigger clubs may not like this as it'd be a blow to thier revenues.

In their game at the weekend they didn't even use their quota of three subs but now they want five?
They only want them to use against the lesser teams - like us - when they can't break them down - they then bring on five top class internationals to give it a better go!
It gives an unfair advantage against the likes of us.
Let them do it in their games against their buddies but only three against the rest of us.
As he says - it has worked fine for years so no need to change.
Me thinks they are looking at the league table and not liking what they are seeing.
They want their cosy club back and will do anything to achieve that result!
