I noted that. If Maddison can't make Southgate's squad then it is hard to see Eze breaking in. Even if he did squeeze in he would likely spend the whole tournament on the bench, so from a selfish perspective it might be better if he just had a nice rest so he's fit and ready for Boxing Day. I think Guehi might squeeze in, but again will likely be a benchwarmer. Mitchell seems the least likely of the three unless there are injuries. For me he's struggled a bit this year and seems to be having fitness/injury issues so would be best for us if he went nowhere.

You're forgetting its Southgate. I expect he'll take 6 defensive midfielders

One more point

As well as being a wonderful player to watch he actually seems to enjoy playing and the way he's recovered from his injury is a real credit to him.
Maybe he's got a happy nature but it makes a nice change to see a player smiling. Not that hasn't got a lot to smile about but not many seem to manage it.
We're lucky to have both him and Olise to take some of the pressure off Wilf.

Seriously, Eze's only chance of making the final (26, I think) is if he plays a blinder in each one of our remaining 4 games (final deadline is Sunday 13th November). I understand Southgate can name between 35 and 55 in the provisional squad and doesn't have to make the names public.

At the end of the day even if Eze makes the 55 and no further it is still a great achievement to be in the top 55 best players in the country (In Southgates eyes)
