Nice to hear from you Dazza, hope you are keeping well.

These figures are pretty damning but I do not expect a change this season. I like Roy and think he has done a great job, however he is not blameless and should take some responsibility for not wanting flair players and for some players lack of form. If Dougie did have deal in place for Morelos ( as some rumours) but Roy wasn’t interested, then that is Roy’s fault. Camarasa never given a chance.
One player who has flair but very good work rate is Buendia and we should have gone for him in the summer( not blaming Toy for this).
Will we stay up? Probably although my confidence is waning

Mr Hodgson has a lot more of an idea of who would fit into our side then any us would ever, we are staying up and that is that and that is all we need to worry about at the moment, the football we play is going to be down to the new manager when he arrives not with the one we have now, I wish people would understand this, our squad is very weak in very important positions, Leeds United's squad is not, we have better individuals and we have worse individuals that will be the job of our new manager to sort out, Roy Hodgson's job is to keep our whole club ticking over on and off the pitch Worts and all.

Roy Hodgson's over-riding objective is to keep the club in the PL.

Willo whilst I agree with some of what you say it’s time people stopped making excuses for Roy regardless of the age of the squad he by far a stronger squad than any of our previous managers, for example he has 4 if you include Zaha very good strikers previous managers had the likes of Jerome, Campbell, Wickham, Adebyour, I think you get my point.

Yes Roy has not had a lot of money but we should still be competing with the likes of Southampton, Villa, West Ham.

There are teams that have much lower budgets than us in terms of money spent or wages on offer & have achieved more than us for example Burnley, Leicester when they won the league.

It can happen when you have the right man at the helm.

However all I want is to see our team play football & create chances & have some excitement win, lose or draw that is not too much to ask.

We finished above Villa and West Ham last season and are currently 2 points and 1 point worse off than them at the moment. Both of those clubs spending in recent years has dwarfed ours. So I would say we are competing with them.

You mention Burnley's achievements, but there's an argument to be had that Dyche's style of play would not bring about the exciting brand of football you crave. And given their league position it could be further argued that the lack of investment in that club is catching up with them.

And re Eddie Howe...I must have missed this, but I have seen no rumours or ITK claims about him being appointed, only speculation. Which I added to by pointing out that should Parish wish to change manager ( which I think is very highly unlikely ), then at least Howe is immediately available.

A slight correction to the stats. We have 8 wins in 2020, although that doesn't make the figures look that much better.

Of course 7 of those 17 defeats came in that awful run at the end of last season. I suppose you could argue that with safety pretty well assured after the Bournemouth win we took our feet off the pedal. However,I do worry that we could find ourselves in a similar slump.

If we were playing well and looking like a cohesive outfit, but not getting the rub of the green, then I wouldn't be too concerned, As it is, with our defensive safety-first mind-set, poor passing, and willingness (or otherwise)to concede the initiative to the opposition in pretty well every game, I can see us struggling.

In the last couple of seasons one of our strengths has been that we didn't often lose to the teams around and below us, but with consecutive defeats to Burnley and Newcastle I worry that might be changing, and that really would be concerning as I can't see us getting much from most of the sides above us.

When I look at the current squad, I see a lot of the players in the 'Twilight' of their careers so perhaps I don't view it as favourably as perhaps many on HOL.

With regard to your comment about our strikers, we all know Benteke's failings in front of goal over the past few seasons and Batshuayi's recent scoring record whilst playing against clubs is far from impressive IE 1 goal in the last 24 games and that was against Hull.Ayew did better last season but I wouldn't place him in the category "Very good".We also still have Connor Wickham on our books.

Of course I would like to see more progressive football, but alas due to an ageing squad we just don't possess that energy and drive and there is a distinct lack of pace across the pitch.
A challenging re-building job is not too far away.

Unfortunately I don’t agree if you don’t try you will never know making excuses & hiding behind them is the east way out sometimes you have to be brave.

Tekkers form coincided with Roy’s arrival surprise surprise, Bats needs a run of games &!if it were not for being a yard offside would now be sat on 3 goals his finish against Brighton shows his ability.

I’m sorry but I am fed up with people making excuses for Roy, ageing squad, not been able to buy players, injuries, don’t have the players to play attacking football.

I wonder if Southampton or Leicester or Brighton were saying this under Claude Puel & Chris Hughton.

Yes we have players approaching 30 & some in there 30s but these are fit athletes so this excuse does not wash with me.

Do you honestly think if Roy was given money to buy players he would change his tactics if you do you are kidding yourself.

Stevie Coppell never had money but at least we played attacking football & tried to win games.

Playing a LB/CM upfront when you have 2 strikers on the bench is an insult to them.

Tekkers has shown in the last 2 games if he gets service he will force the keepers into saves more than what Ayew has done in the last 2 games.

What a load of rubbish they just have a manager that has done an incredible job & got players playing to a wonderful attractive style of football.

I bet sprint to bielsa you never said Leeds were better, I bet when Bamford was here you never rated him. Very short sited.

As I say you get the right manager it just what they can get out of the players.

I am fully aware Roy has more idea than me and knows who would fit into his system. Personally, at the present time, imo the system is not working, for whatever reason. If it is not sorted we are in the s***. Just an amateur’s opinion of course

Ultimately we all all have our own opinions & views no one is right or wrong but me personally just want to see players played in there right poisons being brave to make changes when things are not working.

To see my team create a multiple of chances not see the dull sideways & backwards passing, creating very few clear cut chances for our strikers, only scoring 1 goal from a corner in over 150 or so corners to date.

As I say not expecting us to win every week just want to be entertained.

As I say only my opinion & as it’s my money I’m spending to watch the team I am entitled to my view.

Nothing & no one despite the excuses is going to change my mind the last 2 results have been damaging & are unacceptable.

But as long as Roy has his fans and they happy watching this then he will stay in a job.

Friday night we lost the game when Roy tried to throw the kitchen sink at Newcastle. Even brought Bats on for McArthur.

Exactly. Leeds do not have a better squad. They just have a manager with a more expansive footballing philosophy and allows his players to play.

Totally agree with you apart from the last paragraph. The fans do not dictate whether Roy stays in the job, results do. And I'm talking beyond just the 2 last disappointing ones. And I think that most of Roy's '' fans '' realise that the means justify the ends...while the priority is just to survive in this league. I think that's the piece that most of the anti Hodgson faction have the most problems with.

You seem to be finding results to suit your agenda, the only important results are now and in this league at this time, also last years season which we by the way survived comfortably, I said after the 4-1 Leeds game actually if you look it up that Leeds were extremely unfortunate to lose, their squad as a whole is stronger then ours easily you must realise this.
