This hasn't been HOLs greatest moment, but if it's creating too much work for mods I'd much rather lose a thread than a long time poster. Temperatures had been rising across the board really, so a straight red for one person seems drastic. Hopefully this decision can be revisited.

This hasn't been HOLs greatest moment, but if it's creating too much work for mods I'd much rather lose a thread than a long time poster. Temperatures had been rising across the board really, so a straight red for one person seems drastic. Hopefully this decision can be revisited.

I don't think I'll be taking any notice of mings moralising. When you're caught on camera stamping on another players face you cede the high ground. To then do it again and put the bloke he did it to in hospital, well... Should never have been allowed near the England team after that.

To then do it again and put the bloke he did it to in hospital, well...

Personally I think this thread should now be locked. This is a subject that has caused division both on here and at football grounds. We are on here, I assume, as we are all Palace fans, pre-season is starting and hopefully it is a start on an exciting chapter in the history of our club. Tom was wrong in his language but he should be allowed back on here, as he is a good poster and t am sure he realises he over stepped the mark. I also hope Dan, who again is a good poster, even if I don’t normally agree with him, realises his comment “ more letter after my name” was ridiculous and childish, for obvious reasons . There has been antagonistic posts on here simply to provoke a reaction from “pant wetters” Well it certainly did that. Time to move on, everyone to calm down, re-instate Tom and lock this thread. The IOC (International Olympic Committee) have apparently told athletes not to do the knee at Tokyo because it is a 'political gesture'. When you have this confusion (FA says it isn't political) then no wonder people are confused, angry and simply fed up with it all.

This thread just shows what a bad plan taking the knee was. The abuse following penalties In euros and Wembley break in and booing national anthems shows over 30 years other than players salaries and costs to fans, little has changed.
With the current observed mentality the more done to try and support a sensitive issue the more friction it causes. Like this thread, I would close it, cease the knee and get players to boycott social media and focus on something else that does not allow the abuse. Maybe more time training which is what they are paid for.
