That's clearly untrue as those protesting have a variety of skin colours. They are though protesting about racism. Which is an attitude.

I think calling the protest "Black lives matter" to be an unfortunate and incorrect description. Not only because of the opportunity it provides for detractors to jump in and assert false associations with the political organisation which uses that name, but also because it allows people like you to make these kinds of fake accusations. "All lives matter" would have been much better because this protest is about discrimination and is being made by people with all shades of skin colour.

I have often argued in these pages about the need for everyone, whatever their skin colour might be, to stop classifying themselves, or others, or other groups by the colour of their skin. Look only at the character and behaviour of people and use those attributes as the descriptors.

You might not get the importance of this, let alone care very much. It is something which isn't even recognised by most of the media but I predict it will become so in the not too distant future.

As with so many things, time will tell.

Seek help Wisbech. Clutching at straws in this manner demonstrates a pitiful desire to be constantly 'right'.

I 100% agree on your other point that classification by skin is deeply divisive, however, it is not White people who are usually guilty of this. The awkward truth is that most problems that minorities experience in 2021 are of their own making.
Ending the apartheid of Black awards and various forms of positive discrimination would be a start. Overt demonstrations of pride in skin colour are not a good look. Such indulgences are not afforded to White people.
Prejudice exists in every dynamic of society. We all suffer the effects for various reasons and some of us don't go marching about it. We just get on with our lives.

As you frequently talk about the "white race in these pages, which is a concept I both reject and think abhorrent, I am not the least surprised by this answer. It is as predictable as it is wrong.

At the core this is a very simple issue. People are not to be judged on their appearance, but by who they are. Using any kind of descriptive terminology which relies solely on appearance is inaccurate and we all need to think about that and try harder.

We have learned not to denigrate those with disabilities by separating them rom the rest of us with labels. We have done the same with sexuality. We have learned and improved. Or at least most of us have.

We lag behind on the skin colour issue, but it is essentially the same one and we will get there.

We therefore need to get away from using unhelpful and innaccurate terminology and concentrate on what really matters. What these protests are about are the attitudes that still exist in society which result in this kind of discrimination.

Those attitudes are as a consequence of differentness, and not as a consequence of skin colour.

It might be a convenient shorthand to use a lazy descriptive but it's also dangerous.

As you seem to have scant regard for putting society in danger I guess you won't care too much about that though.

It's people like you who have put society into a less cohesive and discordant state....not me.

A person like me wouldn't have let the immigration into Europe to have happened at anything like the levels it has.

You have the audacity to tell others how to think about the society you want.....errrr, once again take a run and jump. People think and feel about their environment how they wish...they don't live in your hypocritical world.

So while you complain about the completely normal reaction of people to unwanted and un-needed change. betrayal even. I simply recognise human nature for what it is....sometimes nice, sometimes crappy.

For example, exploitative old white men with means moving to near exclusively white, low crime areas of the country....and then complaining about the so called 'racism' of others.

That people assume it does is a large part of this problem.

The protest is about discrimination. In this case because of attitudes about skin colour.

It's the discrimination and the attitudes which are causing the protests."

Please read it slowly, line by line. Some people only see what they want to see. Try not to be one of them!

I very clearly say the protests are about discrimination and that in this case that discrimination is caused by people's attitudes.

If you want to debate why some people hold these attitudes and discriminate as a consequence that's fine. It is though a separate debate.

This one is about the protests and why concerned people are holding them. They aren't protesting about the colour of their skins are they? They are protesting about attitudes held by others and the discrimination which results. Discrimination which shows itself in a myriad of ways.

There is an important distinction here which seems to escape a lot of people. I hope I have helped you to recognise that.

Still posting insults I see, Wisbech! Still contradicting yourself too!!

I have no expectation at all of always being right. I am married so that hope was removed years ago.

I do though dislike seeing assertions being made which are based upon a fundamental mistake, albeit one which is shared with many others. So far from me "needing help" I am doing my best, without any realistic prospect of success, to help you.

I have no more sympathy for people celebrating their "blackness" than I do for people bleating about "whiteness". I want it all to stop and people to talk about culture and not simply skin colour.

Of course prejudice exists everywhere. I make no excuses for any of it, even if I understand some better than others. However, we need to deal with those things we are personally able to deal with.

So if you are prejudiced do something about it. That's the way to make a difference.

One of the biggest ironies of this entire BLM debacle from 2020 is how white soc.libs not only hijacked it by way of indulging in the mass hysteria of knee taking but then tried to water it all down because it made them feel uncomfortable when they realised what the BLM agenda truly was.

LOL. Talk about cultural appropriation. BLM are worthy of some respect because they don't try and hide their agenda. I have zero issues with that. And when I see all these pathetic white people trying to somehow tone it all down I understand a little bit more why they are so down on 'whiteness'.

s***, the Vanilla Left make me want to puke so I hate to think what it does to all the POC's.
