Because surely that is all that matters. If someone is a closet racist you will never know anyway.

Maybe this explains a lot. To me it’s always been the covert racism that’s been a much bigger problem in this country. People who think just because they’re not calling someone the N word they’re not a racist.

Covert racism is a huge cause of the inequalities people are doing this for. Overt racism just causes fights and is the refuge of the deeply unintelligent. It’s those smart enough to know better to do that but who still harbour the same feelings who are the bigger problem.

That’s not what I’m saying at all. I’m saying that’s what the issue is that has brought this to the forefront of society now and forcing people to have this conversation. There are a lot of people in power or people that can make decisions that influence a lot of lives that quite clearly harbour these thoughts.

One of the biggest benefits of this whole knee issue is that it’s made a lot of people like yourself realise that the game is up to a certain extent. I have a slight respect for you in that you’re one of the few on here to be quite unambiguous in what you think and to recognise that people like you (and me) hold the power and have done for a long time. The fact that people are now standing up for themselves and have lost that fear factor is scaring the sh*t out of you and others.

My opinions are based on my experiences and my relationships with others. I have grown up having zero issues with anyone that I have ever had to work with, study with or have anything to do with that is ‘different’ to me.

So if I wasn’t ‘brainwashed’ I’d be full of animosity towards others like you would I?

So who have I been brainwashed by?

It’s only ‘nonsense’ because it doesn’t adversely affect you as well btw.

If British players want to take the knee then they should be able to do so witout booing.

What the italians do is up to them. Italy fought on the side of the facists, didn't have an empire like we did, the Roman Empire had slaves but it was not to do with colour and Italy does not have the same ethnicity mix as the UK.

We were a key nation in the slave trade when it was about supposeldy black inferiority and have a toatally diferent history in that respect. After the war we had a sever labour shortage and needed to draw on the empire and we have integrated fairly well ever since.

Good old Gareth Southgate. A Palace boy. A club in a multi racial area and acknowledging it. I'm much as proud of that as I am embarrassed by this ignorant red neck Palace site.

I look forward to England taking the knee to acknowledge that black lives matter which is actually acknowledging a change.
