You have completely missed the point. The taking of the knee is associated with BLM, fact. Blame the media who are still banging that drum. Posters on here took the knee in support of BLM, fact. Now it doesn’t suit to associate themselves with BLM they are trying to divert, as you are.

But people have been taking the knee in protest way way before BLM. See Colin Kaepernick for example.

Your posts have been like a breath of fresh air in a place full of old farts. I hope they all feel ashamed of themselves but if the past is any guide they won't. It will all be your fault. Or more likely mine. Or Dan's.

By the way did you see Gareth Southgate's statement tonight that laid to rest, in unequivocal terms, any thoughts that the players were doing this for any kind of political reason.

Cheers, it's good to know at least that I'm not a complete outcast here, among supporters of the same football team as me!

I haven't seen what Southgate has said but IMO anyway, it is quite clear that the BLM movement is separate to the organisation and that showing support for the movement is entirely separate.

10am on Talksh1te should be a good listen as Simon Jordan will no doubt be responding to Troy Townsend's criticism of him having an opinion!

Andros's dad also didn't agree with QPR and Millwall players linking arms in a show of solidarity tonight which confused me as i thought this is a positive thing which distances itself from the blm movement and politics.

Apparently if you use the same gestures as political organisations you have completely nothing to do with those organisations and aren't showing support.

And that's your position because the FA say that's your position.

Can you imagine what these people would say if other groups started to adopt the gestures of say....the proud boys and then claimed the same thing.

It's all political ideology and fairy stories for simple minds.

You are by no means an outcast. I’m sorry you feel that way and I’m sure that was no one’s intention. The reservations on here, certainly mine, haven’t been about the cause but the way it is being presented.

I don’t think anyone on here is going to object to a show of solidarity against prejudice, which is what Millwall have planned for tomorrow and I think millwall fans again support. Problem is QPR have now changed from not taking the knee to either some or all will be taking the knee.

It’s all a load of empty rubbish anyway as you know, and changes barely anyone’s lives at all.

By your logic you disagree with Les Ferdinand who made a statement on why QPR were against taking the knee, only for Dion Dublin on Saturday to accuse anyone of being racist if they were against the knee. So therefore Les Ferdinand is racist towards black people in the eyes of Dion Dublin. It just shows how stupid it all is. People arguing over a bullsh1t token gesture rather than making reasonable changes in society that are either proven to be unfair or benefit all, which is why I mentioned custodial sentences, something I learned this year, and widening history in the school curriculum to include ethnic minority history while not painting Brits as evil racists and instilling white guilt into white children.

Not true it is making no difference. There is a renewed push on diversity and inclusion from employers. Senior black candidates are in particular demand and are in short supply.

That's not what they want to hear or know though is it. Apparently, if you don't like taking the knee you're totally in the wrong. An unsurprising position from the thought police.

No political organisation owns a gesture do they?

"Taking the knee" was started by Colin Kaepernick and has grown as a symbol to show support for anti-racism. It has nothing whatsoever to do with any kind of political ideology. Whether an organisation uses it or tries to hijack it is immaterial.

The FA are saying it not as an instruction to anybody. They are saying it because it's a fact.

There’s a certain salute associated with Nazi Germany with pretty heavy political connotations.

Apparently not if the FA or some footballers say so. I'm asking Di Canio what it means.

What you have written doesn't address anything I've said.

Indeed, you have just repeated points I have just shown are flawed and full of double standard.

The Nazi's use of that salute, the way they forced their people to use it and its associations has meant it has become tainted with evil.

In fact it was used by the Romans and by many others previously so was never "owned" by the Germans. That's just a perception.
