You have completely missed the point. The taking of the knee is associated with BLM, fact. Blame the media who are still banging that drum. Posters on here took the knee in support of BLM, fact. Now it doesn’t suit to associate themselves with BLM they are trying to divert, as you are. But people have been taking the knee in protest way way before BLM. See Colin Kaepernick for example.

I haven't seen what Southgate has said but IMO anyway, it is quite clear that the BLM movement is separate to the organisation and that showing support for the movement is entirely separate. 10am on Talksh1te should be a good listen as Simon Jordan will no doubt be responding to Troy Townsend's criticism of him having an opinion! Andros's dad also didn't agree with QPR and Millwall players linking arms in a show of solidarity tonight which confused me as i thought this is a positive thing which distances itself from the blm movement and politics.

Apparently if you use the same gestures as political organisations you have completely nothing to do with those organisations and aren't showing support. And that's your position because the FA say that's your position. Can you imagine what these people would say if other groups started to adopt the gestures of say....the proud boys and then claimed the same thing. "Taking the knee" was started by Colin Kaepernick and has grown as a symbol to show support for anti-racism. It has nothing whatsoever to do with any kind of political ideology. Whether an organisation uses it or tries to hijack it is immaterial. The FA are saying it not as an instruction to anybody. They are saying it because it's a fact. In fact it was used by the Romans and by many others previously so was never "owned" by the Germans. That's just a perception.
