It makes the mockery of the club and, more importantly, it’s disrespectful to anyone that has lost someone to this horrible disease. Lamela and La Celso were injured anyway and I think Regulon has been on bench for a few games.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Luka to lose captaincy? ' by becky What a moron. Outside of football, he deserves the same as anyone else who chooses to put their social life before the actual life of others. I hope he gets prosecuted and/or fined by the state, along with anyone else caught acting that way. As a footballer, any additional punishment from his employer is at the clubs discretion and subject to the terms of his contract as well as employment law of course, but this kind of thing can border on gross professional misconduct. You've only got to look at Newcastle for examples of how very fit young athletes with excellent medical care can be laid so low by covid that they can't play for weeks, or even months (and counting) in two cases. What if that was Zaha and Guaita? We'd be screwed. As he's playing today I presume the club have produced evidence that Milivojevic is covid-clear, otherwise cpfc could be for the high jump, seeing as the evidence was out there already. All because Luka knows better than the rules.

Comment from Roy about Luka not following coronavirus guidelines: "It's an internal matter but I must say we're very disappointed about it. We don't expect our players to break rules. Luka [Milivojevic] has apologised but that is not enough - he has to take responsibility. We can only apologise, we are unhappy about it and we will deal with the matter internally." So he’s confirmed he knew about it but still picked him in the starting XI and he was still captain. What kind of example does this set? By playing him Roy is actively condoning his behaviour.

No,by playing his best squad for the match, Roy is simply doing his job - as long as he is not putting other players at risk by doing so, there is nothing wrong with that. He has stated categorically that the matter is being dealt with internally, so Milo's behaviour is obviously NOT being condoned, but not every crime requires a public execution.

He shouldn’t have been anywhere near the other players or the coaching staff until he has had two clear COVID tests. He should have been omitted from todays Match day squad and fined heavily. What sort of a message does it send out that he played today and remained as our Captain?! As the pandemic takes an even firmer grip with infections increasing day on day, I cannot believe the shocking example we have set for our other players, our supporters and the wider public.

I agree with 90% of what you say. If the manager feels the player makes the team stronger then he has to pick him. The team shouldn't suffer as a result of Lukas behaviour. Beyond that though I think the ultimate punishment should be significant and be made public. Palace have a responsibility to set the appropriate example in the current climate. I assume he was in the clear medically, surely? The legal responsibility alone would have prevented Palace taking any kind of risk on that front.

The bloke must be brain dead, same as Mitrovic. Also the person who leaked the video (presumably is/was a close friend). I agree with other posters that if Roy thinks he is needed in the team, he should play - however, he should not have been wearing the armband today. It doesn’t reflect well on the club and keeping him as captain sends out the wrong message. At the very least, you’d expect a big fine behind the scenes.

If I was then I'd accept the importance of not only taking my medicine, but being seen to do so. It's not a new idea is it? The greater the status of the job the greater the rewards but also the greater the responsibility. That's why cabinet ministers resign over stuff like this.

Luca has already had COVID, so will test negative for infection, positive for antibodies. Needs to behave more responsibly, but glad he has part of the team today, played well and gave us some bite in the middle.
