Of course Terry did it.

Great analogy cant be proven.

My point being, yes he maybe did shag her, BUT, she was, at the time an EX gf of an EX team mate. It was the media who decided the narrative. Shock horror.

Maybe they should spend a month doing shifts at the local icu as a cleaner.

FYI having spent Christmas and then NYE alone for the sake of my family then like the rest of unhappy fans maybe we can judge

Very well said.

I've come late to this thread so perhaps my question has already come up. But if he acted illegally, isn't it up to the police to prosecute?

I think the Police are investigating. Along with all other breaches reported where selfish dickheads like this are caught out.
Being a Palace supporter stops when they break life protecting rules and act selfishly in an entitled way. If he accepts his punishment like a man then I think we should then get behind him. Trying to make excuses for him just makes one a pathetic sycophant

think I read somewhere that he tested negative, hence he could continue to mix and play. Not that we needed reminding, but clearly a lot of footballers think the rules don't apply to them. Am sick of reading all the non-apologies straight out of the latest PR playbook 'I made a poor choice' 'need to work on my decision making' 'understand the impact of my actions'. It's a load of meaningless bullcrap that's written for them.

I have read articles on the internet quoting Roy saying Luka had tested negative in the latest round of EPL testing but there is insufficient information in any of the articles that I could find to establish when that testing took place and when the results were released, relative to the breach of COVID regulations that took place on NYE (Household mixing) and the game in which he played on Jan 2nd. There needs to be far more transparency over when the testing took place and what contact he had had with the squad on NYD, especially as all the reports suggest Luka withheld this breach from the club and it only became apparent when the media reported it. The mixing was with a player from Fulham for heavens sake, who have postponed their two most recent games because of a substantial outbreak of COVID cases at the club!

Utterly ridiculous.

Indeed. One thing, though: hasn't Luka already had COVID? If so do the scientific powers that be know yet whether a person can be re-infected and be a carrier again? Not that it should allow Luka to ignore the regulations.

You shouldn't be tested until at least 5 days after your last contact.
He shouldn't have played full stop given his misdemeanour.

Well yes, during my research I found that it was widely reported by the BBC and other media outlets, including our clubs own press department, that Luka tested positive for COVID-19 whilst away on International duty at the beginning of November.

Yes, it has also now been established that you can catch it more than once and that Someone can become re-infected by the same COVID virus or variant of that virus.

I personally know of two people who have tested positive for the COVID virus twice. One tested positive in the Spring and had mild symptoms but has since caught it again (and tested positive for a second time) however this time is far more poorly with it.

Leaving aside what a complete selfish asshole he's been, and how important it is he gets punished for it, I agree that the finer medical, technical and scientific aspects of this are not clear at present.

Overall I still stand by my instinct on Saturday: It is inconceivable the club would have played Milivojevic unless they either didn't know what he'd done or they were absolutely certain he was in the clear medically.

Otherwise the consequences for the club in terms of breaking regulations and legal liability wouldn't bear thinking about.

Although I'm not a doctor, I believe that most people develop sufficient antibodies so that they shouldn't be able to catch it again for at least 90 days.

Also, it takes at least 2 days to manifest in one's body after contact. So if he was out on NYE and was on the field on Jan 2, it's unlikely he was contagious yet.

However, he probably doesn't know either of the above, as he's an idiot.

Roy has said that he had tested negative so they broke no rules with FA.

Yes I appreciate that, but like others on here I can't quite square that statement from Roy with the events and timings.

As I say though, it's inconceivable to me that the club wouldn't have made absolutely certain they were in the clear to play him, it's just not obvious to me how so.

I am surprised we played him and surprised at Roy's comments.

Surely, despite the fact he had a negative test (and there is such thing as testing too early), he broke Govt guidelines and that's the issue here.

Otherwise, the country would be absolute carnage if people could do what they wanted just because they have a negative test. He is a role model as a footballer and him and the club have made the wrong call here.
