Sorry to say but Cahill should have packed it in last season. His stats this year are terrible;

7 games started
19 goals conceded
0 clean sheets
5 points from 21 available

With all the experience and quality he should be leading the defence. Twice tonight him and Kouyate almost sparked themselves out going for the same ball. You’d expect that from Sunday league defenders not somebody with 550 league appearances.

Something I was hinting at on the other thread - when Cahill starts we lose big time, he's totally past it but one of Croydon Roy's faves.

One of Roys problems all his career is he has favourite players, so even if your not playing well your in also he never bloods youngsters unless he has no option, so that's why maybe Scott Banks went off on loan,

certainly our defending from midfield has been poor.

There seems to be a lack of pace and a certain panic, confused and misdirected.

Eze Peasy at Anfield....

gotta bump the thread.

Another f...king game we are losing within the first 5 minutes.

i cannot claim to be an expert on defence, but surely it involves getting between an attacking player and wherever he is trying to kick the ball to ?

and not just standing 10 yards away from him and looking immobile ?

Immobile is the word! Tired, old, slow, very tired, very slow, and so on!

It’s a shame as the decline this year is fast for a few of them.

This season highlights the need for energy and youth.

Too many games too many injuries
