Tom The Eagle is now going to pronounce himself Tamara The Eagle from this day forward and demand to meet all our daughters/wives/girlfriends/Eddies to "bond"

Only if he is in the same tier/ bubble or can manage to bond from 2 metres away in the park.....one at a time.

With respect to the west I'm convinced we're in the collapse of Rome stage of our civilization.

Being gay used to be the height of fashion however it's now shifted to trans/non binary nonsense, honestly what comes next?

It's only the social conservatives and a tiny number on the left like Tulsi Gabbard who are fighting this.....many of us regard it as degeneracy and child abuse and it's been going on quietly in the background without major pushback.

Since the death of religion it's just more evidence that modern society has lost any cohesive or collective sense of morality and eventually the laws reflect that. It's only a matter of time until the pit deepens.

Someone's gender shouldn't be on a passport and nor should it affect how the state deal with them.

Your gender is on your passport though, so unless that changes what would he/she be put down as?

If the state sends you down, where do they put you if you're a man but identify as a woman?

In my view if you accept gender on a passport (which I don't) then you put down whatever the individual wishes....as gender is how they see themselves.

For me, you would be imprisoned with those of your sex, regardless how an individual views themselves.

There have already been several cases where transgender males have been placed in women's prisons with disastrous outcomes:

It seems that their rights supersede any rights women may have had to safe spaces, be that changing rooms, lavatories, prisons and now, in Scotland, there is a massive controversy raging where a transgender male identified himself as female and got a job as head of a rape crisis centre. I'm sure any woman who has suffered the horror of rape wants to be examined, helped and comforted by a person with a p****.

Good post.

It's an outrage, it genuinely is.

Gender does not appear on U.K. passport. It would be in his legal name and as long as facial features match, no problem. I can only talk for the U.K. of course

We live in strange times as they say.

I find I am on the side of the small minority of feminists who realise that this is a threat to the rights that women have won.

Odd as I am more of a gammon who the majority of the very vocal LBGTQ feminists still think is the real threat. We're not, its religious groups and the Trans groups that are chipping away at women's rights.

Yep.

I made the mistake of opening this up thinking it was something to do with Palace and then finding it was the usual pub banter echo chamber. What I will say is that I have a friend here on my island whose kid has always acted like a boy, dressed like a boy, and wanted to be a boy. They don't seem to have ever considered the idea of being a girl. An amazing kid, but as they're getting older now they are seeing that the world isn't blind to issues of gender, race, and other such things. They appeared on a national TV show and adults started posting things on social media taking the pi$$ out of them because they didn't dress or act like a girl. Their swimming club told them they could no longer swim with the boys club, even though they were the fastest swimmer. They were told that they had to leave their under-12s football team, even though they are by far the best player. This isn't just about genitals and sex, this is about identity. Maybe for some their identity ends with their pen!s, and for those people I hope the two of you live happily ever after.

People talking about changing rooms and prisons and other matters are talking like a Sun/Daily Mail journalist and not looking at the majority of transgendered people who just want to live a normal life in which they feel comfortable. If you have a problem with that then that is a reflection of you, not them. Eddie Izzard has often spoken about how he feels obliged as a public figure to speak out for those who don't have a voice. This forum at times is like a petri dish in which you can see why someone like Eddie Izzard feels that is important.

Sorry, but I don't accept degeneracy being promoted to children. I don't care how you slice it and lie about it.

Adults can do what they want as long as they don't force the involvement or compliance of anyone else.

The person on here talking about those things is me..... and I am a woman, so I feel perfectly entitled to have the opinions that I do without being denigrated as talking like a Sun/Mail journalist - this matter is just as important and real to me (and a lot of women)as it is to Izzard.

Or are you (and he) saying that women have no right to have their preferences taken into account if it goes against what 'p**** people' want?

Dear God, women have had to fight long and hard in this country to get what rights we currently have and I don't see why we should be expected to chuck it all in the bin and not feel comfortable in 'our' limited spaces so that the few can?

I'll start by apologising for my lazy generalisation. I'm glad this has been moved away from Palace talk. I'm not qualified to talk about the issues you've raised, but I would suggest listening to what Eddie Izzard has said in previous interviews about these issues, even if you don't agree with them (if you haven't already) seeing as they are the topic of conversation.

Having previously lived in Brighton for 20 years I've known and worked with lots of trans people and I suppose I just get fed up with people labelling them as 'a threat to women/children', or degenerates. It's similar to how gay men used to be labelled as sexual predators and paedophiles. For some people everything comes down to the act of sex, and like I said, maybe that says more about them.

Anyway, this isn't something that gets resolved in a football forum and only serves to create pointless disharmony, hence I'm glad it's been shuffled into an area of the forum far fewer people visit.
