It’s been reported that Hodgson has indicated that there will only be one or two changes to the team.
If this is true I would expect Jairo or McArthy to start in midfield to freshen it up.
I could also see both Townsend and Schlupp starting which could mean no place for Eze.
Not necessarily what I would do, but what I could see Roy doing.
We need to get back to not conceding in the first half which really seems to make life difficult for us.
Those expecting 4 or 5 changes in the team are likely to be disappointed.

I agree about Eze, may need a rest and Schlupp on left to assist Mitchell ( if PVA is dropped as he should be)

All I hear is that Roy is not going to make many changes! Quite honestly, I'd change the flipping lot.
We heard before Villa game that they wanted to show that the Liverpool result was a one off. How wrong they were.
Dann was off the pace, Benteke wandered about like a lost sheep and I could go on. They were dreadful in every department.
It looked as though we were playing with 10 men and AV had twelve! I've never seen so many wide open gaps on the Villa pitch, they stretched us in every way and we were all over the place resorting to niggling fouls, in preparation to being sent off!
Do what Arteta did, bring in half a dozen youth players against Leicester and then in January buy a half decent striker and a CREATIVE mid fielder along with a solid central defender.
They can sell 8 players who have had a good time at Palace, but with all due respect are now past their sell by date. At least we've saved a bit of money this season!

Last under 23 game featured four first team starters.

Play six U23, four guests from first team, and one guest from U18. Not sure about an all U23 bench but a mix of four first team and three U23 would give lots of scope.

The further the season progresses, the more I see a need to dip into the U23's for candidates.
I cannot imagine why Mitch would not be selected over PvA while Luka has no business doing anything other than staying at home.

On the plus side, defeat today and against the Blades will surely trigger new management.

Eddie Howe is available and relatively local, and could be installed while Roy's office chair is still warm.

I dont see him changing the team much, if at all and that says everything you need to know.

Expect another bad defeat today. We will be 1-0 down within 10mins.

Why this obsession about keeping the young players away from the team?
German Dortmund throws in 16 and 17 years old players in Champions League - and get away with it.
Something to do with Hodgson's own age and not trusting young ones?

How does Milivojevic get in that side. Put Macarthy in with Riedewald.

No Eze is rubbish but Clyne, Tomkins, Mitchell and Riedewald starting is fantastic. Best news of all though... no Vardy!

If by some miracle we aren't losing in the second half, you know he will come on late and get the winner.
