Signed a contract extension one more year.

Great news.

Confirmed on club website. Him & Wardy, will be ok for season(review in Jan). Now, for a CF.

We know which area other teams will be targetting.
I am concerned about the full-back positions.
Perhaps many will disagree with me but I am giving my honest opinion.

In this instance I do disagree with you. I'd say either right back is perfectly serviceable for our needs, at least defensively.

I'd be surprised if opposition managers have, in the last couple of years, noticed any greater prospect of success down our right side than our left, where Mitchell was (is) still learning and Van Aanholt was frequently dire, or the central areas where Cahill and Dann were too old and slow, and were poorly protected by Luka.

You have every right to disagree and you made your case respectfully as ever.
It is high time I departed for some liquid refreshment so I will not 'Infest' HOL for a few hours at least!

Mate IMO we are fine at fullback..!!

We’ve got 2 capable right backs Clyne and Ward - then an exciting option once Ferguson is fit.

We’ve got 4 left backs Mitchell, Hannam, Schlupp and Banks.

IMO Mitchell will push on this year and Hannam will do like wise.

Clyne wasn’t fit when he came to us last season but with a full pre season behind him think you’ll see more from him this time around - remember he’s only 30 and got 14 England caps. So IMO a fit Clyne is more than adequate.

Think where we should be focusing is another winger - Reiss Nelson? And a forward personally I would be over the moon with Adam Armstrong, scored 28 in a struggling Blackburn side last season.

Whatever way you look at it - we’re a lot stronger now than we were at the same stage last year..!!

Come on Viera and COYP..!!

No ! Roy is a better manager than Vieira! Roy has shedloads of experience and P.V. has practically none.

the point is we now have competition for the one right back slot - b4 Clyne came Ward was virtually our only rb, and he is adequate but more a of a squad player, he shud not be guaranteed his position, only a few are (Zaha, Guaita, maybe Eze although him and Schlupp often compete for a place) - two average players fighting for one place makes for above-average performances - and as people have pointed out there is Ferguson to add as well (hopefully).

Experience does not necessarily equate with better, every manager has to start somewhere. With Roy we knew what we’d get, PV is a gamble, he could be better, as good, or worse, we won’t know until we try

Sensible move considering Ferguson seems like a player who with serious injury problems

We don't know that for certain. We know Roy was one of this country's most experienced managers and was successful in his mission at Palace (keeping us in the PL on a shoestring). We don't actually know how good a manager Vieira currently is or will be or how quickly he will settle into managing a PL club.

Was actually talking about the playing squad..!!

But now you mention it I for one am looking forward to a season void of “Roy ball” and his turgid tactics.

But everyone to their own..!!

Come on Viera and COYP..!!
